The BugyBops - Friends for All Time (Bugabees)

The Bugybops has been a huge success. We briefed out kids teacher on her allergy and left the book in her class room suggesting the teacher read it to the class so the other 5 year olds would understand the importance of an anaphylactic reaction. There is a peanut kid and our milk kid in the class. As far as the kids go it has been requested to be read again and again in class. It is absolutely wonderful that a educational book is entertaining enough to be requested. It is superbly written by a mother who understands what it is like to raise a child that the smallest ingestion of the wrong thing can lead to a life threatening condition. The fact that the other 25 kids in the class are learning the dangers of food allergies without really realizing they are learning is wonderful. The more aware other people are around our child the safer she is. There is always the feeling of being different then other kids, that we've worked hard to overcome and this book plays right into that narrative. The Bugybops and The Bugabees are great.One thing we'd like to stress to all parents and especially those with allergy kids. These books are essential to ANY parent raising a child with a food allergy. These two books will do as much to keep our daughter safe as her 5 point carseat. The Carseat only works if you get in a crash. These books "work" everyday she goes to school. Beyond that, when her friends see her on the play ground they let their parents know that they should not be eating the ice cream cone on the playground when our daughter is around because of her allergy.We would give these book 10 stars if it was an option.

I bought this to read to my son's kindergarten class for a mystery reader. day They seemed to really like it and got engaged with the book. My son's teacher even inquired about it which I was really happy about. I think it's important for young kids with or without allergies to understand how to keep their classmates safe. Great learning tool!

This book is a great educational tool for children who know children with food allergies, and to be honest that's most children these days... with peanut-free classrooms, and separate tables in lunch rooms so that children with allergies can eat safely. This is a great book for teaching children why some of their friends may have to behave differently, and how to help everyone be safe.I don't adore the cadence when reading this aloud... there's places that it feels to me the words should (and could) rhyme... but that's a personal preference of mine. The illustrations are cute and engaging, and the information is accurate, relevant, and presented in a way that children will be engaged and will learn potentially life saving information.

This book is by far the best I've seen for helping kids NOT allergic to foods understand the dangers associated with food allergies. The BugaBees The Bugabees: Friends With Food Allergies  was our favorite for a long time, as it covers all of the top 9 allergies with sweet rhymes. BugyBops continues with the BugaBees story, but is geared for those that have friends (or siblings or classmates) with food allergies. It shows kids how to be a good friend (a great lesson for all kids), how to keep other kids safe, and how they can make sure their friends are included in activities safely. I purchased 2 copies of this book -- one for me and one for my son's class. I recommend it for every preschool and early elementary school--its cute, entertaining, and VERY educational!

This is a good book to teach young children (and adults) how to help keep friends with food allergies safe. I will be using this book as part of a lesson for my child’s Kindergarten class, teaching them how to be a good friend to classmates with food allergies.

This is a great book for teachers, and for children who have food allergies! It is easy to understand, and the illustrations are beautiful. It is not boring at all! It is the most fun book that I have read about food allergies.

Bought for my Kindergartener's class. My child has a life-threatening food allergy and this book has really helped her classmates understand! The kids loved it!

Awesome book which caters for all food allergies. My kid loves picking out the bugs which match his allergies, and it has really helped him identify why he is different from other kids when it comes to food. Also a great resource for teachers to help teach the class how to keep their friends with food allergies safe at school.
