GoPro Hero 13: The Ultimate Compact Camera for Aspiring Videographers
The GoPro Hero 13 is the perfect device for capturing videos at parties, events, action scenes, and underwater. It's great for those with video hobbies who want professional-quality shots. This camera is very beginner-friendly and a reasonable choice for starting a dream video career. Its compact size and up-to-date technology make it a superior alternative to larger cameras, and the built-in stabilizer enhances video quality.

So far, I'm very impressed with the quality of video, battery length and stability.

Fun, easy to use
I got this to use as a helmet cam with my motorcycle. I don't vlog, but I got it in case I'm in an accident and I'll have evidence of what happened. Ended up getting the subscription service. I like the highlight videos it puts together, and honestly, the editing application is easy to use, but I don't like you can only use it from a phone/tablet; would've liked a desktop application or even web-app.I needed to get a 3rd-party mount for it to fix to my helmet, but the curved mounts fit a lot of things. it would've been nice if they also included a couple flat mounts.I like using this more than I thought I would.

Bad engineering
Bought this for a bucket list trip to the Great Barrier reef and Tahiti for snorkeling only. Tested it before leaving and it worked fine. Worked fine also shooting video at the start of the trip. BUT the first time I went in the water with it (it was never more than 1 meter deep) it stopped working, and when I took it back to the boat to investigate I found that the door to the battery/USB/SD card compartment had leaked sea water. I rinsed with fresh water and tried to dry it out but I now own a brick with a very nice handle and carrying case. And I can't eject the SD card either to try to rescue the video I took before going in the water. I never got to download or watch the video I took, which included something I probably will never see again -- a just-hatched baby sea turtle making its way to the sea.Mind you I was aware of the potential for leaking if the "door" didn't seal so I double checked that it was fully closed and sealed. But it leaked anyhow. The engineering of the seal is very poor. Basically you have to stretch the door in order to get it to pop over a little ridge. There is no secondary latch to make sure that the door is fully sealed.Fortunately I was able to pick up a DJI Osmo Action 4 before we got to Tahiti. That worked flawlessly and I got some great snorkeling videos.

Good value if you're committed to a new GoPro
I purchased this item to record my outdoor workouts for YouTube. I like that this package offers the additional mounts, a hard shell carry case, enhanced mic, mounted LED light (which gets pretty bright), a magnetic mount, and the Volta mount. I wish it came with one of the new lenses, but perhaps that's too costly for GoPro.The Volta mount is awesome. My workouts are about an hour long, and I record with all maximum settings enabled (5.3k resolution, HDR, etc...) and it only uses 1/3 the Volta battery. I do wish the Volta extended a little bit, but this is not a review of the Volta itself. The GoPro Hero 13 is a great action camera. I'm not an expert with all the settings, but it is easy to use and records high quality video. The major benefit is I can record my workouts with the GoPro instead of my phone, preserving my phone's battery life and having the ability to listen to content while working out.The downside of using the GoPro over recording via a phone is the added steps to the workflow needed to create a video. When I recorded my videos on my phone, I could record as long as I wanted and it would be a single uninterrupted clip. This is not possible on a GoPro (at least from what I've been able to find online). The GoPro can only record 4k content in 30 min intervals, requiring me to use iMove, Quik (which is going away soon), or another video editor, to stitch the clips together and export as a single file to watch or upload. If you don't mind the added steps, the GoPro could be a great solution for you.
