I have used similar whistles for years and they do seem to work. After adding them, I rarely seemed to run across startled deer. When I see deer now, they are almost always stopped and looking my direction. So it seems such whistles get their attention before I get to them.Unlike models I have used in the past, these did not have the holes running all the way through. And they were much larger, which seems unnecessary since the holes are open at the front and exit the bottom only about 1/3 of the way back. The back 2/3 only seems to exist to clip the front piece into. I suppose this might come in handy to replace a broken whistle in the front without needing to peel off the adhesive base at the back. But my past purchases of similar whistles have lasted until I sold the car.Personally, I always get the black whistles instead of the chrome ones you often see. I find they blend into the background when mounted in the openings of black grill work. And so this time I ordered the black ones instead of the clear also being offered. And the package I received said Black. But as the photo shows, what was inside the unopened package was the clear version. I installed them anyway since appearance generally takes a back seat to function for me. And these should function fine.
