Not as good as expected
As other reviewers have said, too much on joints and not enough on design. I venture to say most people know how to make most joints, but inspiration for new designs is what they are looking for. The designs in this book are dated and too much the same throughout. My wife (aka - the planning officer) wouldn't give permission for the furniture in this book to be put in our house :-)

Four Stars
The book seems fine. When I get time to sit down and read it - it should be good.

Outstanding
This book is quite simply outstanding giving details of how Ingham makes his unique, beautiful and delicate looking furniture and boxes. Methods are given of machine use that will inspire those who use them but I was most interested in the detailed description of innovative methods and jigs to aid the marking out and cutting of joints by hand. Well worth buying. You even get a design for a very useable workbench and insight into Ingams inspiration.

Seems like a nice guy very gifted cabinetmaker but no writer
I bought this book expecting a tremendous Krenov like read. What a dissapointment! I wish I had paid more attention to the review that complained about the repeat of joint making that takes up most of the book. The author has very little to add to the art of joint making.

Best buy book,
Excellent book with some superb ideas for a host of different jigs. I am in the process of making one now. Very readable and some valuable ideas regarding tool storage and use of powered equipment. Saw the author's work at a recent craft fair (brilliant) and noted the book it was a third of the price through Amazon so I had a result! Highly recommended.
