Ace Combat 5: Unsung War /

This is a FOUR DISC set! It contains as much as I can tell every song and BGM played in the entirety of the game. The music tells much of the story so I'm pleased to have it in my collection. There are a few vocal tracks...these are in English not Japanese but it appears they were always in English as this is the legitimate Japanese release. It also contains the title track "Blurry" by Puddle of Mudd. All in all a great CD set for an ACE Combat 5 fan!

Great gift

This CD is in a word....awesome. Some of the songs arent that great, just the menu BGM, but alot of them are exquisetly written, beautiful pieces of music that cause your mood to soar. I highly recommend this album to anyone at all.

I've not yet been able to play the games of the Ace Combat series, particularly the favoured Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies (Ace Combat: Distant Thunder in Europe), Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (Ace Combat: Squadron Leader in Europe) & Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. But what I can say for the game series post-Ace Combat 4, no matter the regard for the title itself, they've never fallen short when it comes to their soundtrack, and Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War's may still be the top gun of the series.The game takes you on a surprisingly well told story (Perhaps one of the combat flight simulator genre's best stories) of air force trainees thrust into a war between fictional nations and become legend as their actions shape the course of the war, facing opposing flying aces using mostly real-world aircraft to completely ludicrous constructions like the Arkbird, a spaceship armed with lasers & combat UAVs returning to Earth's sky to deliver a nuclear payload. And the soundtrack never lets you forget it.Using a mixture of electronic, groove, rock & orchestral styles, the soundtrack steadily increases it's intensity as the stakes grow ever higher, until it finally pulls out all stops and unleashes what I believe might be one of, if not the grandest orchestra performed for a video game made during the 6th generation period of game consoles (1998-2005), the famed "The Unsung War".Definitely a series highlight, and a classic of video game music, if a more rare & less remembered one. Something I'd recommend any day to anyone looking for music with a high-action spirit!

After playing this game for years and years (and never getting all the planes!!) the OST just instantly brings me back to all the memorable moments while you played! The condition was very good when I received it : )

当時プレイなさって涙を流した皆様には珠玉のCDでしょう。自分の中では「ゲーム」が「映画」と肩を並べた記念すべき作品のサントラです。「8492」を聞くと掌に汗をかきながら逃げ回ったあの感覚が蘇りました。久々にチョッパーと叫びたくなりました。AC5は映画化を切望する作品です。

エースコンバット・シリーズは一度もプレイした事がないが、ユーチューブ上にて零戦のドッグファイト動画のＢＧＭで聴いて、購入（ベルカンの「Diapason」）。本作は試聴してから購入した。各楽器が見事にそのパートを担っており、音楽としてはかなりレベルの高い曲が多い。作曲者は植松伸夫氏のような天才なのではないか。ゲームの性格上、緊張感の高い曲や悲壮感漂う曲が多い。

エースコンバットといえば質の高いBGMも魅力の一つです。3や4のBGMはよくニュース等TV番組で使われているので実はゲームを知らない人も耳にしたことがあるのでは？さてACE04の頃からさらに重厚さの増した、ACE5のBGMはゲームという枠を越え、非常にストーリー性の高い作品であると思います。シリーズ中初めて「イメージソング」が設定されたことからも、BGMが物語の一部として重要なファクターとなっていることは容易に察しがつきます。そのイメージソングPuddle Of MuddのBLURRYもキチンと最後に収録されていますね。この曲の歌詞はサンド島の彼らに本当にピッタリです。意味を知ればきっと泣けてくると思うのでファンの方、歌詞のほうも要チェックです。BLURRYが収録されているPuddle Of Muddのアルバムは他の曲がどうもイマイチな感じなので、本サントラを買った方がACEファンの方は幸せになれるかもしれません。ワルシャワフィルオーケストラによる壮麗な楽曲はゲーム未使用曲も収録されるとのことで期待大ですね。しかし全90曲以上の大ボリュームとはいえ、ちょっと価格が高い気がします。ここはひとつライナーノーツの出来に期待したいところですね。
