Excellent read
So glad to be able to enjoy another Quinn novel! Quinn's crew has found a new purpose, and this involves taking out some seriously evil men. Nate and Quinn avoid settling their disagreements, but end up working together on an uneasy truce when Quinn pops in to help Nate on a job. Yet, upon completion of this task, Nate is unsure about returning to the team, and turns down Quinn's request. Orlando lands an assignment that is important to securing the team's new purpose. As Quinn's crew heads to Rome, the scope of the assignment becomes clearer, and the danger level increases. Nate is the only living person who can identify the target, but the target is employing some serious camoflauge to keep his identity hidden. Will Nate be be willing or able to help? Will Orlando and Quinn be able to keep up with the changing goals of this assignment? The book is a page-turner with fast paced action and an engaging plot and sets up for many future possibilities for Quinn and his team. If you have not read any other books in the series, start with THE CLEANER or BECOMING QUINN. I highly recommend this series.

Brett Battles never disappoints - here we go again!
As always, Brett Battles did not disappoint with the next Jonathan Quinn contribution! Once I started it, I hated to put it down (darn life getting in the way). It only takes a few pages to engage with the characters. If you have read the other books in the series then it is like welcoming back old friends and joining them on their next adventure. The worst thing about Brett Battles books is that they end and then the reader has to wait for the next one! If you want to read books that make you really FEEL for the characters and what they are embarking on, you absolutely must read this author. I have never waited for an author's next books to come out the way I do Brett Battles and I have been reading for well over half a century!

Another GREAT Quinn book!!!
Another gem from Brett Battles, featuring Quinn, Orlando, Nate (yes he's back), Daeng, and the ineffable Jar. I simply loved it and could not put it down. In my opinion, Jonathan Quinn is one of the best characters in contemporary fiction. I would say the best in the political thriller genre, but it is more of just an addictive action series. If you've read any of the other books in the series, this one won't disappoint. If you've never read anything by Brett Battles, what are you waiting for? In addition to the Jonathan Quinn series, Brett has multiple other great books. Nothing I've read by Brett Battles has disappointed me and I've read almost everything he has written.

Old Reliable
Brett Battles is my go-to guy when I want a rapid-fire thriller with engaging characters, international settings and a piledriver plot. THE FRACTURED did not disappoint. This is my 17th BB novel and I have number 18 sitting in my queue. In THE FRACTURED, Nate returns. For those new to the series, Nate is Jonathan Quinn's apprentice who rose to be a fully-functioning member of JQ's team. He fell in love with JQ's sister and when she died he became alienated from JQ. Now he is back for a new outing. The novel begins with what appears to be a separate story: JQ and his team are taking down a child-molesting, supremacist group in Oklahoma. The group (it turns out) is part of a larger organization whose major domo is securing heavy weaponry from an international arms dealer. The purchaser is capable of writing $50,000,000 checks.Meanwhile, JQ's old government organization ("The Office") has been reconstituted and is being run by a friend of JQ and Orlando's. This woman, Misty, wants JQ's team to secure the arms dealer. But here's the catch: the man always travels in disguise and kills anyone who sees his face. However, one old pal has actually seen that face—none other than Nate.Nate and JQ reconnect and we're off to Rome, the arms dealer's base. We see him earlier in the novel torturing a man in a most unpleasant way. We immediately realize that he will capture one or more of JQ's people and we dread the possibility of their succumbing to the tortured individual's fate. This is all a part of the rhythms of the story, which BB manipulates to a fare-thee-well. While these stories largely consist of breakins, car chases, shootouts, etc. the tension is regulated and modulated in such a way that we never fully relax but also never begin to despair. One of the original models for stories such as BB's is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, where a death-defying ensemble performs the unimaginable, utilizing wit, will, weaponry, chemicals and flying fists. The ensemble cast is 'international' and the backstory/subplot is their set of personal stories. This is the perfect summer confection, but don't hesitate to read it beside the fireplace when winter comes. BB is always reliable. I have also dipped into the EXCOMS series, the LOGAN HARPER series and the PROJECT EDEN series by BB. I have never been disappointed.

What could have been the best falls short.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Plus a restart of the office back in business, and the fact that the whole team was working together once again was worth the wait. Overall the cast of characters (the bad guys) they too were a welcoming change. Where this book faulted was in its length, it was way to short. So much more could have been added to the story line especially in the dismantling of St Anand operation.

The Fractured
This is book 12 of the Jonathan Quinn series, and, as in all series, it gets more difficult to have each successive volume live up to (or exceed) the previous ones. This chapter is entertaining, and viewing it in isolation, an engaging read, well worth you time and money. For followers of the series, the relationship between Jonathan and Nate continues to evolve, and the expected action is there. One shift in the series through the 12 episodes is that the team is no longer primarily tasked as "cleaners", but are direct action players. I'd recommend reading the series from Book 1, "The Cleaner".

Another great Jonathan Quinn thriller!
"I just put down The Fractured and already can’t wait for Fall 2019 to see what happens next! For those faithful Brett Battles readers, Quinn, and Orlando are back, along with some other familiar names. Brett does such a wonderful job of character development you can hear each different person’s voice in your head. The Fractured plot is definitely a late-night page turner. If you’re a first time reader, this book is easy to jump into and enjoy as well. Great suspense up to almost the end. I loved every part of it!!"

As good as ever
I have read all the Quinn novels and although I enjoyed this one very much indeed I felt that it lacked, in part, the pace I expected. The story was brilliantly conceived and Quinn "lovers" will not be disappointed.

Highly recommended.
