My Lupus Paperback – April 28, 2009

The only trouble I had with this is that the touch screen DOES NOT work underwater. If I wanted to change from photo to video I had to come to the surface. So it doesn't work well for scuba diving unless you only want to take photos or only take videos. I had the previous model of this and this one is WAY easier to open. I like the metal hinges. The switch to take photos got a little temperamental after a few days of using it, but I was pleased that it didn't fog up and was much nicer than the waterproof bags for taking photos and videos.

This phone case is amazing. The touch screen is perfect and so easy to use. Took this case with us down to the Keys over 4th of July. Went snorkeling and used it. It worked great. Did not leak. Fit the phone snuggly. Only suggestion is to rise the case after each use if you are using in the ocean or the clasp will deteriorate and break off.

The media could not be loaded.  Purchased this for my recent scuba trip. I was VERY pleased that at this price point it kept my phone bone dry at my maximum depth of 27’. Not a single drop of water. I was able to take clear videos, and surprisingly my device still picked up on sounds around me. Here’s the one downside: at about 18’, the pressure becomes great enough that it will hold the shutter button down. I was able to work around this by smacking the side to slightly jostle my device inside the case which caused the volume button on my phone to be pressed to start/stop a video and I was able to edit out the shaking at either end post dive. If I’d been taking pictures this would have been a much bigger issue. The case is made of a very high quality plastic, making it a good budget friendly option compared to other metal cases. I can see it lasting a while, but I imagine it will need to be replaced eventually even with proper care. Would it really survive to 14 meters? Not sure. It did very well around just under 10 meters but I don’t think I would want to push it since it’s made of plastic.

This is advertised as a “Diving” waterproof case. However, once you go below about 15 feet, the case pressures and the shutter button won’t pop back up.I think they should just say this is a “Snorkel” case. It’s great for that.Also, don’t use as a general waterproof case for kayaking, boating or water sports. The phone over heats quickly in the case. I have used it paddle boarding, and I tried to open the case and let it cool down but then I couldn’t get it back in the case with out a little moisture.

The media could not be loaded.  I wanted something that I could use my phone so I didn’t have to transfer anything. This was amazing . It fit my iPhone 8 and iPhone 14 like a glove (read the directions). I brought it to Hawaii and got great video and pictures. It kept my phone bone dry. There is space between the phone and the plastic in the case that makes it a little tricky to use your finger. I prepped it before hand by having my passcode off so I didn’t have to mess with the password if the phone went into sleep mode. I also had it on video before I went in the water. The video on and off button is great. Once it’s on video it’ll work perfect without using any of the press to use phone functions on the phone. If I needed a picture I’d use the video mode then take the picture off the video. Why buy an expensive GoPro when you can have this?!

While this seems like a good product, it is not made for the iPhone 12 Pro. My phone did not line up with the buttons, it was completely useless to me on vacation and of course I passed the return window by the time I got home.

The #1 reason I bought this was because all the reviews I read said, "It keeps the water out". That was no different from my experience. Just like in the other reviews, I felt it was comfortable in the hand to hold and the tether is MOST excellent. When I came back from the trip with my underwater pictures to show everyone, they always asked, "That looks amazing. What camera did you use?" I don't think the great pictures was because of the iPhone camera but to the design of the case.Unfortunately, the down side to this case is what is described in the other reviews as well. Most of the time, the shutter button didn't really work when I used it underwater. I had to press through the plastic to the round circle on the screen. It worked but I'd rather be able to use the case button. I always felt that I may eventually puncture if I keep doing it. I tested the shutter button before I set out to snorkel and it worked. It even worked sometimes above water. Not sure why it didn't want to cooperate below water.I think this is the second generation of this case. I would give the next generation a try if I ever needed a new case.

I got some amazing underwater photos while on vacation, and it was all thanks to this case. Your phone will get warm inside the case, so I recommend only keeping it in there for a little. The touch screen was a little hard to press, but it kept my phone safe which was my main concern.
