Adorable illustrations and witty observations that capture the beauty and sometimes absurdity of life in Serbia. As a native of the country, I love Emma's "outsider" perspective, because it's one that comes from experience, respect, and good-will. I strongly suspect I'll buy more to give out as gifts for English-speaking friends.

A great book to browse through. Some snipets could have been more accurate . But as a outsider looking in, you wont get some of the cultural differences if your not part of that culture. As a serbian/american I can use this book to help explain to my friends a little bit about my heritage.

Love the drawings and how they portray ordinary and special, daily life, in Serbia. Lovely, sensitive, human focused view of the Balkans.

I absolutley love it!!! I took it to a family reunion and we had so much fun. When you are serbian,religiously culturally and spent time there visiting and being tourists, you have memories and this book brings back snippets of memories and it is just fab!!! already have relatives who are planning to purchase!!!!.

Yes. I was thoroughly entertained. I laughed so many times because of the truth In the book. She captured our Serbian Idiosyncrasies of which we are proud. I kept saying to myself, so true, so true. Loved the illustrations.

Snippets of Serbia is a great travel illustration of Emma Fick's time spent in Serbia.The book is divided into different regions of Serbia showing illustrations of food, architecture and people going about their everyday lives.The majority of travel guides now by the big companies have become monotonous, repetitive and quite frankly boring.I hope the author may do other snippet guides on other countries, I think illustrations accompanying travel guides are the way forward.

Love this illustrative and simple insight into Serbian life, folklore and habits. Having a serbian parent left me smiling and laughing throughout as it is what it is, rich in daily facts and habits. If you want to know what makes a Serb tick then read on.

Informative and funny. I've chuckled at the old sayings I've already heard, and then learned quite a lot. Will be useful on my next visit to Serbia.

Meine Frau ist aus Belgrad, daher kenne ich das Land aus eigener Erfahrung recht gut. Sehr vieles, was Emma Fick so humoristisch darstellt, habe ich selber auch erlebt und erfahren. Wer Serbien kennt, wird seine helle Freude an dem Buch haben und wer sich auf Land und Leute einstimmen möchte (z.B. wegen einer zukünftigen Reise) der findet einen witzigen Führer in die Seele Serbiens...
