Visual Graphic Overkill
From the very beginning I have liked the concept of The Chew and the fabulous rapport between the 5 personalities. I am a fan. Their first book,"The Chew: Food, Life, Fun", is a 5-star winner. "The Chew: What's For Dinner" is okay, but...It has a graphic design layout that requires tranquilizers to help the reader get through the book to help focus on the key features of the effort, ie. ideas for dinner and easy decorations. The volume has an overwhelming amount of scattered, extraneous text and font styles galore; there are too many personality, set photos having little to do with the suggestions being presented; and, there are overpowering bright patches of colors which are over printed with light-colored text and are difficult to read comfortably. The attempt is a blizzard of every trendy graphic tricks popular today. It's like no one could make up of their mind, are we scrap-booking a cute volume about 3 years of show episodes, or are we offering quick and easy meals by The Chew crew? I regret that I am unable to soar with enthusiasm for this second book. If this is suppose to provide the reader with ideas "built around the rhythm of your daily life" (to quote the back cover), then my life maybe too chaotic to handle chef knives and hot skillets.

Fun Book but Not Practical on Kindle
The book is almost as much fun to read as it is to watch the show. Had to downgrade to only four stars because the recipes don't seem to be in any order and since I bought the Kindle version it's difficult to find any particular recipe. Also, many of the recipes are way too hot for my taste. I recommend buying the hard copy to keep in the kitchen. It would also be a great idea if this book were published in a ring binder form with coated pages.

A very good, fun cook book.
A hundred recipes brought to you by the funnest group on television. Divided into different nights and categories ("Breakfast+Dinner=Brinner", "Friday Night Cocktail Night") it gives you good ideas for meals. With clear ingredient lists and step by step instructions you'll be cooking like an Iron Chef in no time. Throughout the book are fun stories and lovely photos that make you feel like you are part of the Chew crew.

Liked it a lot
I liked the recipes a lot for myself. My son is 9 years old and a picky eater. He wouldn't like most of it. I tried a few things I thought he would eat and he did. The time frames are too short, most of the recipes took longer to make. Everything I made was delicious in my opinion.

More recipes!
I have the first Chew book and I have to say this one is better. It has more recipes and the pictures are colorful and the tips are nice. I cannot wait to try these new recipes out and I am looking forward to the next book they put out. My one complaint is not all the pictures on the recipes is the actual food in the recipe. I am a very visual person I pick items by what they look like. So on some recipes I had to read the whole recipe to see what it was.

Fun to read and yummy recipes!
I loved getting to know a little more about the stars of The Chew from the book, even though we always watch The Chew every weekday. The first recipe my husband demanded we try was the Patty melt, which we adapted for our panini press. I cooked the onion separately beforehand. It was delicious! Can't wait to try more. All the hints and tips included are very helpful so the book is informative AND fun to read. Great addition to my recipe book collection.
