Good conversation book
Sometimes it is hard to pick a topic to practice Spanish and this book has helped us. My son pics a topic, we do the dialog and then we can talk a bit more to help him with his fluency. Very good book.

Very helpful
I found these very good. The conversations are very natural, the usual mundane phrases don't appear, and the words used are very useful for students of Spanish like myself. I add that there are a lot of conversations but each one is bite-sized and manageable. I worked my way through them on my Kindle and I'm going to re-read them again. I try to remember and use the phrases in speaking Spanish. I'm going to use the Kindle "notes" feature to save the most useful ones which I want to review later.

Excellent book! I hope to find more like this!
I homeschool my children and Spanish is my first language. We read the conversations aloud. They translate what I read, then they read the conversations aloud to work and perfect accents and then I have my high schooler write the conversations down. The conversations are short and real life situations. We have encountered words of common use that we hadn't learned in other grammar or Spanish books/curriculums before. This book has been a fun way to learn and work on our Spanish!

Easy to use at your pace.
It is nice to push yourself and this book does that. It is also nice to know you can go at your pace whatever discipline level you are at will achieve your goals. All the answers are in the book. You can easily cheat. I have sat on some pages for hours knowing that I know the answer and refuse to look. Other times get so annoyed, I look right away.

Another reminder that these are not exact translations
As Ms. Hoag stated in her review, these are not exact translations. I am, maybe, at the advanced beginner level with a good understanding of grammar and a poor ability to converse. So I chose this book. Setting idioms aside, some of the verbs in these conversations are not the verbs that are routinely used in my basic and intermediate Spanish lessons. So, I end up memorizing or rewriting using verbs I learned. It is good exercise to pull out the dictionary and book of verbs, while trying to translate the Spanish or English. I find that I prefer to mark up the English side with a better, more literal translation. This should be an interesting journey.

Great!
Really well thought out dialogues. Teaches you useful vocabulary and realistic likely scenarios. We are memorizing them and practicing them together. Bought a second book!

This one helped me increase comprehension
I'm taking Spanish 101 and was struggling a bit. This book helped me increase my reading comprehension enough that my instructor noticed! Still not very good at speaking, but at least I can more accurately understand what someone is saying to me--and I can write a response.

Short pieces in real Spanish
These are just about the right level. They are not too difficult, but they do challenge a bit. The first piece has an imperfect subjunctive used in an interesting way, but the meaning is obvious from the context.Very good. Very useful
