Q: Do these taste like the original or like chemicals?

They dont taste so much like chemicals BUT they certainly dont taste like the originals that I use to love

Q: What do you actually get? 1 oz bags or .75 oz (and are they snack sized or regular) also 36 or 40?

It was an 1 oz. The last time I ordered they were 3/4 of an oz. 40 bags, but the 30 bags of 2 oz.was a much better deal, but haven't seen any for months I know this cause we just ate the last bag yesterday

Q: How do I get a replacement or refund for a very poor and limited variety of snacks compared to what was shown? These are not 1 oz. Packages as stated.

I would write directly to the company. I would make sure I added all the info from the box/ and packs. If you can include a photo
