Easy and Safe home-user disposal of used medical sharps
This container is ideal for a home user to safety dispose of used medical "sharps" (needles, lancets and other things.) It is easy to get (ordering from Amazon, of course), and easy to use. Most importantly, it is easy to send to a certified disposal facility. The container comes with instructions and a US Postal Service approved shipping package.YOU MUST SAVE THE SHIPPING PACKAGE for use when the sharps container is full! If you don't, you will be stuck with a full sharps container and, in many cases, no easy and legal way to dispose of it. (I imagine some people have the good fortune to have a disposal service or facility in their community.)When the container is full, simply follow the instructions. Seal it with the attached permanent lid, then package it using the supplied materials. (A zip seal plastic bag, and inner cardboard box, the outer cardboard box, and two pieces of sealing tape for the boxes.) Put your name, address and signature on a form provided on the outer box (in the zip sealed packing list pouch). Make a copy for your records and put the original back in the packing list pouch. Then just take the package to a post office and drop it off at the counter.I ordered my first one of these at the end of September 2013. I ordered a replacement at the end of August 2014. So for my usage it tool 11 months to fill it - principally with lancets and insulin pen tips. Your use is different from mine, so yours may last longer, or not as long.I highly recommend this for anyone in the USA who has a need for it.Update: April 2018 and still using these. Each one lasts me about 10 months for lancets, insulin pen needles, blood glucose test strips, and so on.

Good solution for a real problem
After spending weeks in the hospital with complications of pancreatitis, I came home with diabetes and the need to use insulin. I was prescribed pre-filled pens that required disposable needles. When I learned there was no local public drop--off for sharps disposal, my pharmacist suggested checking the internet, and that is how I found this product. I purchase it on a subscription basis and find that is very easy to use - put it on a high shelf, drop in used needles, lancets, etc. The return package is included with the container. You basically double-box the container, fill out 1 short form and take box and form to the post office. The postage is pre-paid with purchase. Easy to do and I don't have to worry about someone else coming into contact with a used needle. The only problem I have had is that the included tape is sometimes difficult to use. But I would still go for "4 1/2 stars", if I took off for that.

Excellent product/service but expensive
I paid a bit over $32 for this product less than a month ago, which I see is now priced at $26+. So I applaud the price reduction. The quality of the product is very good and it arrived just as described. But it is expensive, considering that the container itself (without the mailing service) sells for less than $4. That means I paid about $28 just for the disposal aspect. And considering that a member of my family uses about 6 syringes per day, we fill the container in about 17 days or so. At this rate, I'd have to buy about 21 of these in a year, so that's $546 (at $26 each) just to dispose of the syringes.I'll probably buy again, but only until I can find a local place to drop them off. Then I can switch to just buying the containers.

Disappointed by this Sharps disposal system
I take an injectable medication, and my counties disposal system has me throwing my used needles into the trash (although in a specially labeled bottle). I also use lancets to measure my blood sugar. I will use this for the lancets, but I cannot use it for my used needles, as they do not fit in the small openings. Sadly, I will be continuing to look for a sharps mail disposal system that meets my needs.

Safe convenient needle disposal
convenient way to dispose of my pets needles. A compact self contained unit with easy to follow instructions. When the container is full you just seal it up as instructed, drop it in the mail and forget about it. I will purchase another one, It's great and I recommend this to anyone who needs to dispose of their needles. There are different kinds of units for different syringes, so be careful to buy the right one.
