ANOTHER UPDATE: I decided to get two more sets of this knife & odor bar after my last update. I was amazed to see them on sale and was able to get two for what I paid for last time. I received my knives and they are both as fantastic as my first purchase. Not sure how there is negative reviews as I use and wash them all the time. There are rules to good knife care and not suppose to put through dishwasher or use as a hammer on foods. This KINZOKU Knife slices, cuts, chops and fillets with no force needed.UPDATE: I have had this knife for over a year and I can say this is the best kitchen knife ever had! It’s extremely sharp even after all this time, no sharpening needed! May feel light, but it’s very strong and holds up real well to almost daily use. Hand wash all the time and air dried with no rust developing...and I sometimes have left it in sink soaking with other dishes. Shortly after my first review posted the seller emailed me to let me know it is in fact Japanese Steel and I now believe it! Love the knife and was great price! Can’t believe this knife was such a low price for what it is, especially compared to the more expensive knives out there. What a steal! THIS IS MY MAIN CHEF/KITHCEN KNIFE!!!Box and visually the knife looked great, but was immediately disappointed when I picked it up. First, it’s fake wood handle is hollow metal of some sort. It feels like nothing when holding it. Second, the blade is very sharp and cuts through potatoes/vegetables like soft butter. Although the blade too feels so light that I’m not sure if it’s truly Japanese steel. I don’t think it can hold up to hard slamming chops, but regular use for cutting and chopping will be just fine. I like using it because it is sharp, but worry if will break if too much force is put behind it.

I'm not a fancy cook but needed a good knife to replace some of my older knives that have seen some wear over the years. This knife is great. I keep in in the block and always hand wash to keep it sharp. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something sharp and versatile.

Love the way the handle position fits your hand, light weight, antifatiuge almost. Also lightweight. Razor sharp. Makes kitchen task easy to achieve.

Wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Absolutely the best knife I have ever owned.
