Decent, cheap replacement, but not perfect.
My brother gave me his screen-shattered Galaxy S4 to use if i could repair it. and after finding professional repairs to cost $200-250, I did some shopping around and decided to pick this up, and fix it myself.I found the ifixit repair guide and followed the instructions accordingly to dismantle the phone, replace the front screen and button assembly and rebuilt the phone. It wouldn't power on until plugged in, despite a full battery, but i was happy to have it working, as it's now the replacement for my iPod Touch 5 which feels puny.PROs:-A nice, low-cost alternative for tech-savvy people who enjoy tinkering and fixing things themselves. Installation is tedious, but definitely possible with patience.-Cheaper than a professional repair.-Comes with all needed tools for the repair process.CONs:-The Screen: It works, but lacks the quality of the original panel.-Color reproduction isn't great, but it'll do for most.-Settings pages show the panel's poor response times and heavy motion blur, causing lines to fade or streak when scrolling.-Faint Vertical streaks/lines occasionally visible on dark images/backgrounds.Other thoughts:-**Please check your model # before buying a screen** There are several models of the Galaxy S5 that are all slightly different.most of the reviews saying they "don't fit" are likely because they bought the screen for a slightly different model.-*Be sure to remove the thermal pad covers (little, blue, plastic strips just below the slot for the camera, and above the battery, where the mainboard sits. Leave the pads in place, ONLY remove the clear plastic covering them) just before installation* Keeping them on will cause poor phone performance or possibly kill the phone altogether over time, because it cannot remove the heat from the CPU. Leaving them on can also cause issues with fitting the mainboard in place.

Can be an acceptable fix, but use extreme caution.
I purchase the product to replace the broken digitizer on my phone. I'm not an expert about phone repair, so I'll try and give my best description of my experience with this product. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon phone with SKU: SCHI545ZKV. The descriptions notes that this screen will fit i545 phones. I've found that while the screen base was a perfect physical fit for all my phones components, the digitizer/screen connector did not perfectly align with my phones main board. The difference was close enough that I managed to get it to fit.The phone worked well over the first two weeks. Shortly after that, the screen began to be very sensitive to air view and air gesture functions. I view this as an annoyance and possibly due to my installation of the product, the products quality, and the fit of the screen connector to my main board. I also had some difficulty with the functionality of the back button, but this again was minor.Today, two months later, my screen has started to fail. The display is becoming grainy and I'm quickly losing viewing functionality altogether. While the digitizer seems to still be working properly, that is made moot by the screen failing.I would recommend this product, but with a high level of caution. The connector may not be a proper fit and may cause issues down the road and impact the longevity of your repair. Also, previous comments about the product not being OEM seem accurate. The stenciled SAMSUNG near the earpiece does not have the same manufacturer outline and the menu and back buttons are stenciled in white on the bottom of the phone.

Skip replacing the glass, just get this.
BIG UPDATE BELOW (4 ->1 star)My wife cracked the screen of her Verizon Wireless Galaxy S4. She didn't actually crack the digitizer, but I ended up buying this anyway. Here's why:I bought just a new glass screen from Amazon. The glass by itself (with the tools and adhesive) was about 1/5 the cost. However, the process to replace the glass made it a very stupid decision. You have to understand that to get just the glass off you need to: melt the existing adhesive (I used a hair dryer which works), peel it off the digitizer, remove the excess adhesive, make sure all the buttons (home, back and settings) are installed property, clean the digitizer really well, add new adhesive, and get the new glass onto the digitizer without introducing any finger prints, dust, or other particulates. Even if you manage to do that correctly, the glass might not be resting right against the digitizer perfectly (I ended up with a millimeter gap). It was just not worth it.By contrast, this installation was orders of magnitude easier. Since this came with the glass and digitizer and frame, there's no messing with adhesives where it'll be visible -- note that some of the parts that have to be removed (vibration, board on the bottom, etc) are adhered to the phone, but you don't see those bits. Almost everything either unscrews or unsnaps. The frame also comes with the front buttons already in their proper places and connected. Following a video on YouTube, I was able to do the complete install in less than an hour. This package comes with pretty much everything you need. I did have a pair of tweezers handy since the screws are tiny. The only thing that was really missing: installation instructions. But again, that's what YouTube is for.Last note: I'm not sure why, but my phone's model must have differed slightly from the example videos on YouTube. But the differences were pretty obvious.-- UPDATE --Literally two days after I wrote this review, the screen stopped working, inexplicably. The phone would boot, make sounds, and flash the indicator lights just fine. I thought at first that it was just a loose connection. After disassembling it again and checking the connection, it still didn't work. I have returned this one. I may try a different vendor.
