I starters such as these to light lump hardwood charcoal in my ceramic grill. I bought these because the other ones that I like were out of stock. They eventually did the job, but I had to use 4-5 if I wanted to get the grill hot fast. Also, you have to leave a lot of air space or they won't light. Other starters that I have used are less sensitive.
