The Girl's Book of Positive Quotations Hardcover – September 10, 2008

My daughter started reading this the moment she got it and she's about half way through it within a month. While I haven't heard much from her from the book, I am starting to believe that she is enjoying it and reflecting a positive attitude from it as well.

Nice book of quotes and it is for all ages, not just girls.

nice content, but book is small and very tight. I have never had trouble opening/keeping a book open because the binding is so tight.

Not a big hit with an 8 year old. Maybe a little early for her. I thought it was pretty good!

As a woman in my late 40s, I probably am NOT the intended audience for this book! However, I am a psychologist working with college students, and I'm also a yoga teacher; in both of these settings, I like to share appropriate quotes at times.This is a small--almost pocket-sized--hardcover book that's bright, nicely organized, and features pictures of active girls (they look to be about the "tween" age to me) at the start of each chapter. There are 32 total subject areas with light and pithy titles such as "Doing What You Do Best," "Me? A Role Model?," and "Enjoying the Mystery." The content of the book, however, is quote good. I should emphasis that the material is pulled ONLY from female sources; I understand that the authors (one of whom is male) were looking for inspirational women, but I think that girls can be inspired by both women AND men.I do like how a wide variety of women are included, although the book is slightly out of date now (published in 2008). Here is a just small sample of some of the featured quotes:"I don't believe in perfection. Overall, this is a nice little volume of quotes that can be adapted for various purposes. I would also make an attractive gift book or inspiration to the right young lady.
