Very disturbing, but really good film
Max Riemelt is one of my favorite German actors and normally he plays a nice person, but not in this film. He did a great job playing a bad guy. Sad thing is that probably this does happen - someone wanting control and not wanting to lose the women in their life.

Nice solid little take on captivity.
This was definitely worth my time. I found it to be a really nice take on the captivity genre. There was great suspense throughout, and I particularly love the ambience. There's a dream-like quality to the scenes where Clare is alone, and the cinematography reflects that. Her photographer eye is given something of a life in that little apartment.The ending is too abrupt, which is why I removed one star. Otherwise, this is a solid film.

If you want to experience a wonderful nail-biter...........
Captivates you (no pun intended) almost right from the start. You get so sucked into the story that you want to "get out and push", but you don't want to give up because you MUST find out how it ends!!!! Was so happy I was able to find it here on Amazon in less than a week's time after its showing at the Cannes Film Festival. Time and money well spent.

The title is similar to some other recent films, but nothing else in common.
I was afraid I'd seen the whole movie in the trailer but luckily there was more to the story making it worth the rent.Teresa Palmer is one of those actors that you've probably seen before but not sure where. If anything, she's reason alone to watch due to her very believable acting. Simple as that.-No Body Horror-No Extreme Torture-3 or 4 Sex Scenes w/ Nudity

Maybe I Just Didn't Get It
Ok, a German kidnaps a tourist and traps her.Some stuff happens. Most of it not that interesting, exciting, or tense.Until the end, when the resolution turns out to not be all that satisfying either.Something said suggested to me that he was originally in East Germany, and not entirely happy with the current reality. But, not being a German, I really cannot be sure. So perhaps this film made more sense in Germany than it does in the USA.

Great Acting and Unpredictable
I love this movie, have watched it twice. Fantastic setup and acting, unpredictable turns with psychological interactions that leave you on the edge of your seat about what will come next. Both acted superbly, and the male character is sad... I had sympathy sometimes, but then mostly not. She delivered an amazing performance! And Max is always so beautiful in everything he does... lovely face and expresssions.

Nothing new
Love this actress, especially after Discovery of Witches.This story line gives nothing new to the obsessive abductor.

Gripping film
Gripping to the very last. This is a sensible, highly credible, harrowing tale of domination and sexual control. Superbly acted. The storyline twists and turns throughout, constantly keeping you wondering just how it will all turn out. This is a surprisingly well made and sensibly cast film

Loved this very tense and superbly acted movie.I couldn't take my eyes off the screen for the entire duration of the film.Highly recommended.
