Large gauge wire only
This stripper is ok, but not for small gauge wire. This inaccuracy of the device just does not allow it to constantly strip even 20 gauge wire. Unfortunately this is another tool relegated to the bottom drawer to be unused and forgotten.

Decent made in China tool, not as premium feel as the name brand Excelite one
I bought a Paladin, Knipex, Excelite, and a couple of generic Chinese onesPaladin was made in TaiwanKnipex made in GermanyExcelite made in SwedenKKMeter made in ChinaFortuneW made in ChinaIn terms of feel the Excelite was the best one which had good snap back, followed by a close tie of Knipex and Paladin which were both softer in their spring action. In terms of price / value can't beat the $20 Chinese ones but they definitely don't have a premium feel as a long lasting tool but good for what they are.

Works great for large fine stranded wires
I work with large gauge finely stranded wire with silicone insulation (sometimes referred to as welding cable) for building robots. I have a lot of 12 AWG - 4 AWG wire, and most stripping tools cut off some of the strands because they're so fine. That's annoying mostly because it makes a mess of little whiskers. This tool doesn't do that though. It cleanly pulls the insulation off every time.I haven't tried on small wire. I suspect it will tear that sometimes. I have also had some trouble on largish wire with PVC insulation. If the wire doesn't squish flat enough to cut through most of the insulation, it can be hard to tear through the remaining insulation with this tool.

The Pads are suppose to be adjustable.
First off I do like the design, it's based on some of the more expensive wire strippers. What I dislike out of the package is the front pads are not adjusted well. The shiny metal bits at the front just before the blade, those are adjustable with a setscrew. However on mine, either the hole for the setscrew was too low or the hole in the metal pad wasn't long enough, so try as I might I could not raise the pad so the strippers could strip smaller wire. My test platform was some Ethernet cable I had at 24awg, this product claims to go to 32awg.If I had a milling tool I could extend the hole on the metal pad, instead I took a rotary tool and removed some plastic making it possible to move the setscrew up. Of course now I can't simply return them, but I don't care either way. With a little more adjustment I can get mine so they will work with 30 to 32 awg, I'll post an update when I do along with photos of what I did.You get what you pay for, pay a little more elsewhere otherwise, you can have fun modding these to work as well as the more expensive brands.

Decent quality for this price.
My first impression is they work. I did not test them on a wide range of wire sizes. They will not be the "best", but for my limited hobby use the have already made me happy. I used to use a pocket knife to strip wire, this is much easier and consistent. I am glad I didn't have to pay $100 for a self adjusting wire stripper...but I also will not expect these to last as long as a hundred dollar set.

Works perfectly, even on very fine wire
I saw some other reviews said this didn't work on higher AWG cables, but I tried it out anyways, and it's been perfect. I have a bunch of ultra-thin RJ11 I'm using, with stranded 30awg wire, and it strips them perfectly. The individual wires are 0.25 mm diameter, with 0.40-ish insulation. There's no way to set the cutting depth, it just changes automatically, so I'd imagine if you had wire with very thin insulation, it might tare the core? But given the low price, and how easy this is to use, I'd try it out. It seems really well designed and built.

decent for the price
I have a Knipex stripper very similar to this and a coworker wanted to buy it but couldn't handle the price. This stripper's cutting blades on the bottom of the tool are more of a diagonal or center cut while the higher-end German tools are a shear or flush cut. Other than this the tool seems decent. The package claims it's fiberglass reinforced plastic but I'm not so sure.

Two years of good performance. Easy customization yields excellent performance.
We made alterations by taping across the holding surface to increase the thickness of the holding pads. Out of box, the stripper shredded our 32 gauge wire with five conductors. However on inspection the design seems good and the construction adequate. Several iterative layers of blue painters tape and testing improved stripping with NO wire strand shredding (in minutes). Tens of microns matter. BTW, mostly, high precision has only one guage anyway, so once and done. Thank you. 10 stars.
