Decent toolbox.. Bad latch.. Maybe ok for arts and crafts.
It is a decent toolbox for its size and has a good amount of storage but the press button latch ended up being a bad idea. At first I thought the press to release latch button was cool but after a few months it stopped grabbing the latch to lock it shut. Also if you overfill this toolbox it will not latch shut and if you bump the latch or toolbox while you're carrying it, it opens easily and dumps your stuff on the ground. I will be getting rid of this toolbox for another one with metal latches. I would only recommend this toolbox for light items like arts and crafts.

Disappointed - latching mechanism is wonky.
I bought this to store on my porch and carry my often-used garden hand tools with me. I imagined a grab-and-go caddy that would keep the rain off my tools and would open in a cinch when I had my hands full of garden dirt or ominously named plants like "Dead Man's Fingers" and "Love Lies Bleeding" set to be planted. (My last garden caddy was an open bucket and all my stuff got wet.)This toolbox IS cute-looking and had the excat storage capacity I was looking for - enough for shears, trowel, gloves, weed pick, garden tape and a can of bug spray. However, the "one hand lid latch" thing doesn't work correctly It worked correctly for the first few days, but after being hauled around in the garden, the lid became misaligned and now it doesn't open with one hand, doesn't close with one hand, and sometimes doesn't close at all until you massage it like a little baby and encourage the lid/latch to align JUST SO.And although it never claimed it was waterproof, water still got into this thing even tho it's stored on the porch. My garden gloves are always sopping and there's a layer of moisture on the bottom and on my toolsI'm disappointed by this product - but will give them the benefit of the doubt because my use (garden caddy) isn't its intended use (tool box).

Tray is too small (why??) and tips over too easily.
The tray is too small/narrow. Why??Not only that, the tray easily tips over unless you pay close attention to how you place it. I don't understand why the tray wasn't made the same width as the toolbox, it's both a waste of space (you can't put enough of the most frequently used items on top), and horrible in terms of usability/functionality since it tends to spill everything into the large compartment too easily. There is no good reason for this narrow tray, it's not as if you can reach anything below through the gap - just dumb.If the design would make it at least easy to securely place the tray in its place, but it isn't, it requires super-careful placement - the last thing I want to worry about when I'm using my toolbox.I can't comment on long-term usage yet, but the tray design is one glaring flaw that would have prevented me from buying this in person in a store. Fix this, and this toolbox would rate much higher. As is, one point is generous.Very disappointed, I thought Stanley products where solid and designed with usability in mind - based on this item, I won't be buying or recommending their products.

Not for outside use
I bought this to use on my tractor to carry some gloves and small tools. The problem is with the "fancy one-hand opening" mechanism and some other design oversights, this is no where need waterproof. If it rains, water will get in.You also need to be careful that you don't over fill the capacity with things that could jam up the fancy latch mechanism, there is a possibility that you can jam the latch release from the inside. If you are using this inside around the garage, house, or shop, not too bad but for the price, I would look for something less fancy and more practical; if you are using it outside, it is NOT waterproof, water will get in and whatever is inside will get wet.I would not recommend

Super Organized!
I ordered this product via Prime shipping and received it in 2 days packaged in a large shipping box, very easy to open. The toolbox is black/yellow in color, latches open/close on the front, heavy duty handle, tray inside to organize/sort and 2 different trays on the lid to organize tiny bolts, screws, etc, made of hard plastic and the shape makes it easy to store. I purchased this toolbox for my husband to keep his tools, etc organized because now everything is in a shoe box with plastic baggies- lol! My daughter is giving this to my husband for father's day so I will update my review with his thoughts and pictures on how everything fits. UPDATE: my husband absolutely loved this gift and says it is perfect for apartment living & it keeps everything organized. Thanks for making such a great product. I definitely give this product 5 stars!

perfect for my needs
i needed something to organize cleaning stuff for guns. the top fits my brushes and other attachments. the base is very deep and holds the big stuff. the tray is capable of holding cleaner and oil. just so you know. the cleaner bottle is just a little smaller than a soda pop can in diameter and won't shut if on the ends where the pockets from the lid stick down, but the section in the middle gave enough room. the self latch is nice. i will say that the hinge is plastic. it will not be a problem for me, but if you want to load it down with lots and lots of heavy tools then maybe not. it is sturdy and would hold some weight with no issue. in this price range, it is what is needed.

Worthless after two years.
after two years this tool box has become absolutely worthless, it eventually bends out of shape if tasked to carry even modest weight (guess what, tools are heavy!), and once it bends out of shape it becomes completely nonfunctional, the tray no longer hangs properly, instead it falls to the bottom of the box, and the latch becomes useless, the lid is unable to find the clasp, i've had to carry it under my arm the few months as it can't be carried by the handle if the lid doesn't latch closed, but what do you expect for $35? if you're into arts and crafts, and looking for something great to tote you scissors, felt, elmer's glue and glitter, this thing would rock, but for actual tools? forget it.

TOOLBOXES R US!!
There are many molded plastic toolboxes out there for buyers to choose from. Almost every tool manufacturer and DIY store has one it seems. The quality and price is similar but the real advantage of buying thru Amazon is knowing the quality is there, price will be competitive and it will come to you in about two days, guaranteed! It's just one minor stress in your life Amazon has looked after for you.

It's great as a 'sidekick' if you don't want to have ...
Having moved from a house to an apartment, I cleaned out my large plastic container on wheels, gave away everything I wasn't using and kept only the hardware items I need. This tool box is solid. The two small compartments on the lid are very convenient for smaller hardware pieces (nails, screws, hooks, etc.). The inside tray is large enough for a hammer and screwdriver but not so large that I can't see what's inside the box. I keep the toolbox on the top shelf in a closet and when I grab the handle to bring it down I'm not afraid that it'll pop out or that the lid snaps open. It's great as a 'sidekick' if you don't want to have to drag your large toolbox when you only need a few tools.

Works great
The spring loaded latch on this box is surprisingly durable. I use this to hold my gun cleaning tools and supplies and so far has performed great. Good value. Seemed to be just the right size for what i needed. Easy access. Good purchace overall.

Overall the box works as advertised but would have like to see the pieces come together a little more ...
Things don't really piece together that well with this tool box. The removable plastic shelf that sits on the top of the box doesn't really fit in that well so closing the box is sometimes a challenge. Overall the box works as advertised but would have like to see the pieces come together a little more seamlessly.

Great for carrying many tools
Really good and well build, i use it to carry tools and equipment for my project courses. Everything fits in nicely, there is nire than enough space. It also has holes for a padlock for extra safetyOnly thing I dislike is the lack of dividers for organising wires etcOverall a good product, many of my friends bought the same one after seeing mine
