Bought for 9 y/old grandson. Took 2 days, multiple hours to put together. So much fun. Instructions and diagrams well done. Works beautifully. Eyes move and robot "talks". Amazing fun. Highly recommend.

We bought this Wall-E replica robot for our 12 year old son who loves Lego. He said the pieces remind him of Lego Technic. It took him about an hour and a half to complete.The little eyes have a bunch of expressions. Its also easy to operate and easily charged. The arms dont move but you can pose them in different ways.Great quality and a lot of fun!

I bought this kit for my son who is on the younger side for this set, but I figured we'd build it together. This was complicated enough that it quickly became a dad only build. The build was very detail oriented and you'll have to stare a lot to figure out what orientation they really want you to put some of these parts together. The wiring for the eyes is so short that it actually puts some tilt onto the robots head.After the build was complete, I turned it over to my son who had a blast with it for a few hours and I got the cool dad points that I wanted.

The Sillbird Robot Building Kit is a cool gift for those who like to build moderately complex but fun devices and then make them work. I got the kit for my 16 year old grandson, who enjoys assembling and manipulating mechanical gadgetry, as a Christmas gift. I was amazed at how enthralled he was. He quickly assembled it and then modified it with other parts he had laying around the house.The Robot comes well packaged and reminded me somewhat of a jigsaw puzzle. The parts are extremely well made of quality materials. There is a battery, lights, a motor, and wires that all need assembled along with a myriad of body parts that are both moving and stationary. It all works with a radio frequency remote control.It took my grandson less than three hours to assemble the robot and modify it to his preferred tastes (picture attached). Based on my experience observing my grandson, I would say this is an ideal gift for any kid, male or female, that has an inclination to assemble electromechanical devices that can then be independently moved and manipulated. It is complex enough to challenge the young thinker so that learning and problem solving can be fun and educational at the same time. While the Sillbird Robot Building Kit is elementary to moderate in its complexity, it can be the perfect intermediate step to building even more complex and challenging devices.
