I ordered this BESBLEE Nativity Scene Sets for Christmas Decorations Indoor 13 Pieces 7.9 Inch Figures Hand Painted crèche for my family’s Christmas decorating.Somehow, my husband and I never wound up with a really nice nativity scene. We have a large outdoor one we put in our yard; we have several small ones we got at church, we have a lovely statue of Mary and the infant Christ Child, but we never got a whole, matching Nativity set. When my teenager was little, we had several kid versions, including a Fisher Price and a couple stuffed ones, but I decided it was time. We needed something nicer.This 13-piece crèche includes: Jesus, Mary, Joseph, an angel, a shepherd, three wise men, an alpaca, a cow, a donkey, and the Star of Bethlehem. The thirteenth piece is the baby Jesus’ manger bed, they are two separate pieces. The tallest figure is the star, which is about 11” tall, then Joseph, at about 7 1/2” tall. The wise men are close to Jospeh’s height, and then the other statues range in height. Mary, kneeling, is about 5” tall. Baby Jesus in his manger is about 2 1/4” tall. The smallest figure is what I thought was a lamb, but the sales page says is an alpaca, at about 1 1/2” tall.The figures are molded from poly resin and hand painted. They are in a classic, “old master” style; they remind me a lot of my mother’s Nativity scene, which she has promised me since childhood would one day come to me. They also remind me of the Nativity scene at our church; I like the vintage feel of the figures a great deal.I’m a little confused why the sales page says there is no manger in the kit; a manger is like a trough or feed box. Traditionally, Jesus was put in a bed made from the manger. The crèche has a small manger that the baby Jesus figure fits inside. I think maybe they mean the rustic barn structure that is traditional in many Nativity scenes. This set of figures does not include a barn or backing structure.The figures are lovely and quite detailed, I’m very pleased with the quality of this Nativity scene. At the current price ($95.99) I was a little surprised this didn’t come with the barn background, but the figures are beautifully molded and hand painted; we’ll happily display them without the barn. Years ago, my husband said he build me a barn for our first Nativity set; life got in the way, but here we are, all these years later. He has another opportunity to build a little house for these figures.This is really a lovely set; I look forward to adding it to our Christmas decor this year, and in the future.(By the way, not to be sacrilegious, but the photo on the sales page that shows all the figures lined up in size order, then turned to the left, then to the right, made me laugh. It looked like all of them were in a line up.)
