Q: One buyer said this costs 5c per hour on high, i can't believe that, does anyone know how much this costs per hour on high, currently in the UK.

Answer below says £3.50 per hour which can't be right. That means they must be paying roughly £1.75 per kilowatt hour. If so they should change their energy provider. I pay 56p per kilowatt hour so running this heater at 1800 watts for an hour would cost roughly £1 per hour. Energy providers charge for 1000 watts used every hour so if I use any appliance that uses 1000 watts for 1 hour it will cost me 56p every hour I'm using it If I leave a 100 watt light bulb on for 1 hour it will cost me 5.6 pence for that hour. 56p devided by 10. All this energy bill cost per kilowatt hour is boring but with the recent extortionate prices I'm taking more interest in it. If you switch on your electric oven for an hour and look at your smart meter it will frighten the life out of you.

At 1800w that's 1.8kwph, then times that by what you pay for a kilowatt per hour, for example: 1800w divide 1000 = 1.8kwph 10 hours per day would be 18kwph 18 x 17.44kwph (what I currently pay) = £3.1392 (round up to £3.14). So £3.14 per day if you run it 10hr a day

Q: When I switch the space heater off, why does the unit continue to run with cool air?

It does this to avoid damaging the heating element.

This heater isn’t as cheap to run as you think I used mine and my electric double and I didn’t have it on for that long so it’s not going on again
