great resource for my haunted house!
I bought this book to use as a reference. My 200 year old house, in Maine, is in the same town as the Nelly Butler hauntings, and is also haunted. I found a family connection between a woman who lived in my home and a person whose home was haunted by the Nelly Butler ghost. The book was interesting and informative. I'm still doing research on my house, and may contact the author.

The book was in great condition and at a great price
I needed this book for my college English class with Marcus A. LiBrizzi. When I saw the book for $16 or so on amazon I was a little skeptical, but boy was I surprised. The only thing that let me know that the book had been used is that it likes to open to page 71 ish. This seems to be because that page was used a lot by the last owner. Over all I am very happy with the book, I also recommend it if you are interested in ghost stories or Gothic era stories. the book uses a lot of letters compiled from first and second hand accounts and is very interesting.

Really good source book
This is a really good book if you're looking for the primary sources of information without any fluff. I will say that due to the nature, it's not entirely clear to read if you're unfamiliar with the story in the first place as it doesn't really tell a story in such a direct way, rather give you a brief introduction and then we're into the testimonies taken from the witnesses at the time, along with a series of letters written by the evangelist who took the statements at the time.Overall this is a useful book if you're loking to write any sort of paper on the case or if you're looking to throw out the fluff and get to the nitty gritty of what really happened. I will say that a large portion of this material is avialable online for free in the original printed primary source, however what this offers over that version is a vast collection of footnotes that add a really good insight. These notes alone make it worth the purchase in my opinion, along with a couple of contemporary maps of the area that help you to get a better idea of the social structure of the place. More or less the definitive book if that's what you're loking for.
