Turned out real nice!!! Sometimes, flat pack furniture is a gamble, but the assembly was quick and it seems real sturdy. It looks nice too. The only issue was whoever at the factory installed the front "latch" plate must've been cross-eyed because it is clearly off center. It is only decorative so no major deal unless you have a hyper-critical mother in law.

Came in the box well packed but NOT ASSEMBLED. Instructions did NOT match the boards (instructions had letters but boards had numbers stickers) Took about an hour to assemble. Also, the color on the pictures are much darker (probably photoshopped) than in reality. All in all very nice storage trunk.

For an inexpensive piece of furniture I'm very happy with it, and since this company doesn't seem to have any reviews I want to write a thorough one.The chest arrived fully assembled in a sturdy box, wrapped completely in bubble wrap with corner cushioning and spacers all around. The presentation was really good. I wish I had taken a picture of that! I had to work a little to slide it out of the box. It's substantial. Other than pulling it out there was no setup or construction.I paid full price for this chest, which was about the low end of the price point for mdf and cardboard furniture from Sauder etc. As described, this is a piece of solid wood furniture, and the textures and color variations in the wood are real effects of the saw marks and cutting marks that are sanded over but not removed, to give a really cool texture. Theres even a little chisel gauge in the lid which I find very charming ((actual distressed finish rather than fake distressed). The surface feel itself - from sanding and finishing- is smooth and velvety, a nice contrast. Basically my piece looks exactly like what is pictured except for the pattern variations due to the grain and processing of the wood. The color in the listing is very yellow, mine is more neutral brown but very pretty.This looks like mango wood, as stated, which is a renewable and sustainabily harvested wood. The hardware is black iron. The side handles look substantial and are functional, but there's a decorative thinly hammered iron hasp thing hanging from the front lid, with no corresponding ring on the chest for a lock. It's fine, the chest would look naked without it, and it's solidly attached. Just a little quirky.The craftsmanship is solid. Pieces are cut and fitted well, trim pieces are glued and trim nailed in place, hardware secured with unobtrusive screws. It has the look of a cool, funky hardwood chest made in Asia. It's very solid. I wouldn't worry about an adult sitting on it.It has hinges that stay open until closed so you don't have to worry about slammed fingers.I bought it as a coffee table / toy storage cheat for the living room. It's actually smaller than I pictured (their measurements are accurate, I just didn't think it through). It will look pretty small in front of a full size sofa, but as my room is small I think it will work.The back is fully finished and looks nice but is a flat and plain. Consider that when using as a coffee table. It's fine for me.Negatives: smallish, funny haspPositives: very pretty real wood. Looks unique without being distractingly quirky. Very solid. It's a piece if real furniture, and will be in the family long after that mdf and cardboard stuff has hit the trash curb. I would buy again from this company.

Fake latch

First off, this thing is pretty heavy and made very well. It holds what I need it to just perfectly! It's been through one move already and held up amazingly. I can tell I'm gonna have this for many years.

Cute cute but arrived damaged. I’ve contacted the seller to see if I could get a new lid. Otherwise cool looking and perfect for our needs.

The latch on the front just dangles. It is strictly for decoration. If it had not been broken on arrival it would have been a decent piece.

Small chest but useful as a catchall for clutter in spare room. Quite attractive to look at and very sturdy.
