Elegant Desk Embosser - Gold

This Desk Embosser went far beyond what I expected to receive. The embosser is sturdy, has a nice weight to it, and has an excellent lever for the embossing. I bought the gold embosser and it is gorgeous. The plate snaps in tightly and produces a near perfect embossed image each time. The reason I say, "near perfect," is that part of getting a good embossed image is pure physics. I chose to have my embosser leave its impression on the right side of the page. That means I can go almost to the middle, at the top, at the bottom, and in between. The thing to understand is that if one is using the embosser on a fairly thick book and setting the plate for a bottom or top image, the pages at the very bottom or the very top will press down a bit further than the other side of the plate. This means that in some instances the final product may be a bit, just a bit, lighter at the bottom or top. However, with a bit of practice and using the paper weight as instructed you will end up with a great final product.One thing to be alert to: If you have a nice collection of books, including rare books, 1st edition, 1st printing, the moment you emboss these books their future value may be less than if you do not emboss. Just keep that in mind. I have bought a number of collectible books and they do have an embossing on them.For me, I am very happy with this product. I have embossed about 1/5 of my library to date. I have a bit of work in front of me.Lastly, I believe this is a true case of getting what you pay for. The service in getting my plates made was simple and fast. Just be on the look-out for an email asking you to answer a few questions and to put down exactly what you want on the plates.Most of all, have fun, enjoy, they're your books, make them more so!

the embosser does not make a clear imprint. It is difficult to use. It is not what was written up when I purchased it...The imprint is unclear and very faint and even to make a faint imprint I have to press very hard. I had an embosser years ago and it was easy to use and made a clear imprint and was less money. very disappointing....

Embosses fairly well, but, shape of handle can really hurt your hand if you get it in the wrong spot. I found that since I am not very strong it works much better to emboss the back pages of a thick book because it can be stabilized better. Seller shipped in reasonable amount of time and personalization process went well.

Very disappointed! The impression is very one sided, not just a little a lot.

I purchased this embosser for my boss/pastor for his 40th birthday. It is nice and he really likes it. It will definitely take some practice! I was pleased with the fast turn around from order to shipment, but would have preferred them taking a little bit more time to put the bottom pad on a little straighter and put it in some bubble wrap so it didn't clank around in shipping with metal on metal.

I ordered the Elegant Desk Embosser - Gold and got it within 10 days. It would have been sooner, but I messed up the spelling for the embossing stamp, so I called their toll free number & they corrected MY mistake no questions asked! The stamp is solid quality and works great.The wealthy friend I bought it for was impressed. He has a big library that I borrow books from all the time. On the gift card I wrote: "I got this for you, so that I can keep track of the books I borrow from you!" Buy it for people that already have everything and can buy anything & they'll really like it.

This embosser has a good feel and has the weight to do the job. It doesn't have a cheap handle that seems like it will fall off like some others, and you don't need a lot of weight behind it to emboss. The only downside would appear to be the plastic stamping dyes, but to get metal would add much more cost and time to make. So far I have stamped hundreds of times with perfect imprints and no extra effort. I looked into the metal plate type and they are around $300, so I think this is a great value and gives me many options as I purchased extra plates for a variety of purposes. The extra stamps are quite inexpensive as they are plastic, and they arrived in the same time my embosser did. There is felt on the bottom so it doesn't scratch my desk as well.
