Keep my feet warm
I use these primarily at night to help keep my feet warm, and they do a great job. I can’t tolerate socks with tight tops, but no problem here.

High percentage of merino WOOL
Real wool is the best for thermal winter socks. Wool can even stay warm if it gets wet in the snow, unlike cotton. Merino wool is less itchy than other types of wool. After much searching, these are the first socks I've found that are mainly wool (89%) and also have room for swollen, thick ankles or calves.I got size Large, since I wear size 10 in women's shoes. The height comes up to mid-calf on me, but I'm only 5'2 inches. There is no pressure on my legs, and no dent marks on my legs. The socks do tend to roll over, somewhat, from the top, but they do not slide all the way down my legs. These socks are comfy, and less itchy than cheaper acrylic-blend socks. The toes are comfortable; I can barely find a toe seam. Good for diabetics. Although practical, the style looks dressy enough to wear with a business pantsuit. These socks are medium thickness. I wish I could find extra thick wool socks that fit me, so I can stay outdoors for an hour in a northern winter. These socks are not thick enough to be that warm. Yesterday, I layered 2 pairs of socks, before going outside. I wore these socks next to my skin, and then I layered on these other socks: "Diabetic Socks for Men Women, Merino Wool Non-Binding Top Crew Socks with Cushion Sole, Seamless Toe 3 Pairs" by Facool (Amazon ID B07W1X1W2J) which are only 40% wool.

3 pairs = 5 socks! One blue sock was missing!!
Didn't return because gift was needed immediately, so gave 2 pairs as the gift but paid for 3 pairs. My husband says socks are very comfortable for his bunions and large calves, also the wool is soft.
