Up On the Roof....
....is where I'll be exclusively while wearing these "Furuian" safety work shoes. For years, my "go-to" shoe for routinely having to get up on our (Hawthorne ain't got nothing on me!) nine-gable pitched roof for routine maintenance, has been dedicated "skate shoes", due to their reinforced toe and heels as well as for their grippy soles. These "Furuians" however will be the new task-masters owing to their superior anti-skid grippiness, combined with their stated Kevlar mid- soles. The composite toe and lite-weight assures better sure-footedness without the heavy lugs on typical work boots, which can damage asphalt shingles. I chose the "lizard-green" pair as they seemed appropriate for slithering about on the roof. The one criticism here is not so much with the shoes itself as it is with the vendor's sizing info, which states a US 9M is comparable to EU 42, when rummaging thru my various name-brand shoes, all indicate that US 9M = EU/FR 42 2/3, whilst US 8 1/2M = EU/FR 42. So, even though the vendor does not indicate an US 8 1/2M (my normal size) is available for order, in fact I did order the specified US 9 (EU 42) and it fit just as an 8 1/2 should; so, I would suggest going with whatever EU size corresponds to the labels listed on your other name-brand shoes.UPDATE 12/5/24Gave these shoes a several hour workout up on the roof and what I found is that they are not quite as "grippy" as I had hoped, with the primary reason for that being that these shoes "run" wider than you would normally expect and therefore your feet will experience too much lateral movement inside this shoe, creating a feeling of instability; definitely not a good thing while up on a roof or even ladder, as you will want shoes that "hug" your feet (without "pinching" of course). Overall, not super comfortable, and because of the width "oversizing", walking in these shoes, for a lack of better term, felt too "swishy" and not-surefooted enough to my liking. The "composite" toe felt sturdy enough but the question remains, will these shoes provide the same protection as a quality steel-capped toe and do you want to find-out the hard way?

Wrong Size.
The shoes are perfect but I choose the wrong size, should have been a bigger size from my regular size. It was too tight so I had to return and reorder another pair.

Heavier than expected
I got the green version of these in my normal size, 9.5. The fit is fine, and the design seems to have extra space in the toe area to allow movement without the safety cup digging into the top of your toes or foot. These have good padding around the ankle opening and the tongue has a loop to run the laces through to help hold it in place. Overall I find the shoes comfortable on various floor surfaces like concrete, wood, metal (ladders). The tread pattern on the bottom is really open so they don't clog with mud or gravel. The insole provides a good amount of cushion. I typically wear the "wing" name brand boots and shoes at work where I'm on my feet 10 or hours a day. These shoes felt good out of the box without any need to break them in. The only negative is the weight. Even though they are composite toe they are quite a bit heavier than some other brands of safety sneakers I've tried. If you're use to wearing work boots these won't feel heavier though as they are much lighter than a boot is.

Lightweight and Comfortable, but Needs a Different Insole and Wider Fit for Big Feet
The Furuian Safety Work Shoes are a nice, lightweight option for safety footwear, offering good protection and comfort for general tasks. The shoes are well-constructed with a sturdy composite toe and breathable material, making them a decent alternative to bulkier work boots. However, I found the fit to be a bit off. While they provide a lot of room in the toe area, the width may be too much for those with narrow feet, leading to instability when walking. If you have larger feet, you might want to opt for a wider fit than EE for a better experience. Also, the insoles could use improvement—swapping them for something more cushioned would make these shoes much more comfortable for extended wear. Despite these issues, they are still a solid choice for light work and casual wear.

tread not large enough
Nice looking shoe. Toe is hard and reinforced and would likely protect the foot well. It fits true to size. The shoe itself needs to be a bit more flexible for comfortable walking. This shoe might be OK for everyday wear without a lot of walking. It might not be quite as stiff after some wear. The biggest issue with the shoe is the tread. It is not very heavy, which for everyday wear might not be an issue. However, the shoe slick when walking on moist or wet surfaces. This is not good under normal circumstances, but for a work shoe, it could lead to serious injury. We did not test the puncture resistance of the sole.

Sturdy toe, but very heavy
Basic sneaker-style safety shoe with a durable composite toe and synthetic upper. I don't see any labeling for ASTM standards, but the composite toe is stiff, roomy, and sturdy and seems like it will provide protection against minor compression or impact hazards. Probably better for warehouse work than heavy construction, but still adequate protection. Also seems to be designed for puncture protection - I didn't test this - but the shoe feels stiff and heavy under the foam insole. The rest of the shoe is kind of meh - there's a nice rubber sole but not a very deep tread, and the cushioning on the insole isn't especially comfortable and feels like it will wear quickly. For the price none of this surprises me - it's about the quality you'd expect for an inexpensive tennis shoe with a couple of safety features thrown in for free. The only real glaring flaw is its weight. This is a pretty heavy shoe with most of the weight in the front of the shoe (i.e. under the ball of the foot). The extra weight is probably necessary for the protective features but it's not ideal. Feels almost like a work boot, which can lead to tired feet and legs. But overall a decent shoe at a fair price, and a good choice if you need a safety shoe on a budget.
