I don't know but I use a cap of alcohol or peroxide (mix half and half in half a cap)-- a quick rinse and it dries my ears out and I don't have problems. It was recommended by my ear doctor and I'm 70 yrs old and have done this for 50yrs.

I use the drops infrequently and only after I swim in the pool or take dip in the ocean. I think there are many dozens of applications in the fairly large bottle. I keep the drops in the refrigerator until needed to extend shelf life.
