After cleaning all the material that leaked, squish the filler away from the seam so the leak area can be pressed without leaking more. Lay a continuous bead of superglue on the cover, 1/4\" to 1/2\" beyond the leak. Then cut a patch a little bigger than the superglue bead from a thinner rubber glove.
