These are great for a beginner. They heat up perfectly. I bought two and they both are great. You just can not do large batches at a time but just for a few small things these work great.

Slow wax melter, even with 10 degree hotter temp then original
I don't care for this wax melter as much as the one I got in the original DIY candle making kit. It claims to burn hotter but this one took twice as long to melt the candle wax, even at a hotter temperature.
