Great for AC Work
This thermometer is great for working on automotive AC systems. I use it to check the vent temperatures to determine system performance. Generally, systems should perform within the blue band on the face of the thermometer. It's great because you can see it form a distance. Some automatic temperature control systems wont go below 60, but you can still see it on this gauge. Response to temperature change is fast enough for me.

Works well
I bought this thermometer to do A/C work on cars. I like the blue zone from 40-50 degrees and after replacing half the system on a 20-year-old van the thermo shows my temp fluctuating between 37 and 44 degrees as the compressor cycles on and off. I cannot vouch for the accuracy, but this is what I was expecting/hoping for. This is a good tool to have around.

Works great for my auto air conditioner
I keep it in my ac vent to keep track of the cooling temperature. The red band between 40-50 degrees is right where I want the temperature and is very easy to tell with the red band.

Accuracy
The thermometer appears to be accurate. The large display is great. At first I thought it seemed a little flimsily, however was able to insert the probe 2" into hard dirt with no issues. All in all a nice item.

Easy to use and quick stable temperature readout.
Used this to measure soil temperature under plastic for soil solarization (to kill weeds and weed seeds). Temperature readout was quick and consistent.

It works!
So, I've now used this thermometer several times - and I'm confident that it is telling me the truth.I try to measure the soil temp in the morning. Don't want to get too excited about warming & plant too soon!I also check that the thermometer appears to be reading close to the air temperature before I put it in the ground for a sample. Also trying to be consistent with how deep I put it. Doesn't need to be too deep, 'cause seeds aren't buried that far!Do allow several minutes in the ground to get an accurate reading - I judge by waiting for the needle to stop, and waiting a bit longer.

Probe too short
The 5" probe isn't long enough to be practical
