This is the BEST training calendar I have ever purchased
This is the BEST training calendar I have ever purchased!!!!! I am an Ultra-Marathoner, and I put a LOT of miles and cross-training in every week. As many runners know, it can be a pain to create your own spreadsheets, keep track of your notebooks, or whatever creative way you have come up with keeping it all organized. I love this log book so much, i've purchased several more as gifts for fellow running friends! Not only can I log my daily miles, but in the back i can also graph my weekly miles. My favorite part of the book, however, are the pages where i can log each RACE!! The pace, time, my overall place, etc. I love reading over it and seeing how many races I've done for the year and the improvements i've made. I also like that each week gives you a little motivational quote, tip, etc. This is a great book to use whether you're a beginner runner or an elite athlete!

I give it a 5 as it is the best written tracking of a number of things over the years. Sleep habits and daily body weight. Exercise, including running mileage, but also weight lifting, biking, hiking, swimming. Have used this book every year since the early 80's, it is valuable to be able to look back over these numbers and spot trends. I preferred the older format, but the current one is still attractive and useful, and to me indispensable. Before then I used other smaller books, but not as faithfully and they were not of uniform sizes. So I love this book and my records, I am 70 and still running, half and full marathons, and I hope my comments would help anyone else who values staying in shape all through life, and records like this really help.

This is my 6th year of purchasing this journal. I really find it very useful to keep track of my running data in one special place. There is enough room to include running details and notes. I like to add extra details about my runs to include interesting things I may have seen and this journal/log provides enough space to jot notes and track information. I would recommend this log to anyone who is looking for a specific place to put their running information including goals and race information.

... Log for over 30 years and find it the best one out there
I have used this Log for over 30 years and find it the best one out there. The Log starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday which is the way I log my runs. The start of each month has a page of advice and encouragement. Also has previous year, current year, and next year calendars. There are two pages to log your races. You can log your miles weekly and carry the mileage over to the next week. There is enough space to for each day to write how your runs went. Really a great Log Book!

A Wonderful Basis for recording Life's Journey
I've documented my running life using this log, going back to the days of the 1979 edition of "The Complete Runner's Day-by-Day Log and Calendar" which I received as a Christmas present from my dear, departed, aunt Mary. Since then this Log/Calendar has evolved into a Runner's Log-cum-Life Journal. I use my collection of these Runner's Day-by-Day (Now, as a collection, Year-by-Year Log and Calendar) to compare the race times I logged back then with the race times I record presently: I now do a 5K in about the same time as it took me to do a 10K back-in-the-day!

like his dad and Jim Fixx before him
I have these calendars going back to 1986, when Marty's dad John Jerome was writing them. We all use computers to log all kinds of stuff, but nothing beats a bound volume for the soul of things. It's become my personal diary as well as my running log. I can read of the first (and only) time I broke 4 hours in a marathon, or of standing in front of Jim Morrison's grave at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Marty Jerome, like his dad and Jim Fixx before him, preserves the heart and mind of running.

Great "No Tech" Journal for Running
This is an easy to use, "no tech" journal that lies flat when open, and provides enough structure to keep runners on track. Weekly tips and monthly articles are motivating and informative. 7 days fit across two face to face open pages, within spaces for distance, conditions, route and comments on each day. Spaces to enter your weekly mileage and weight, and a place to track your year to date miles are a few of the best features.

I have been running since 1978 and have used a "Runner's Day-to-day Log" every year (except for one year when they were sold out before I went to buy that year's edition!) "Runner's Daily Log" was originally developed by Jim Fixx before Marty Jerome took it over after Jim's passing in 1984 and was smart enough to leave things that worked well (the basic layout) pretty much alone while improving the things that needed it (i.e. the overall quality of the essays, photography, tips, etc.)

A good old fashion running diary.
I am still a paper and pen man so this runners diary covers all the bases.Plenty of space for daily logs with each month has a page for events ( training - racing ). It also has tables at the back of the book which you can use for several things such as total mileage or frequency of runs.It has a ring binder which is great for flipping back and forth and you then have a full page. There are also some weekly training tips with a monthly pick me up if you need it.This is my second diary and use it daily. I found looking back over last years diary a help in planning this years training and events.A good book.
