Mrs Balls Peach Chutney (2 x 470g Pack)

This is absolutely THE BEST CHUTNEY EVER! We had it all over Botswana and South Africa and bought several at a supermarket there to take home. What a relief to find it available online. We can NEVER be without it and re-order frequently. It's especially delicious on fish, and combined with a bit of tzaziki sauce is epically delicious! A little sautéed with veggies dresses up a side dish and it adds some tasty twang to a green salad when added to plain old vinaigrette.

I became addicted to this South African condiment about 15 years ago, but was never able to find it in the US until now. Try all of the varieties, you won’t be disappointed!

This is an excellent product and replicates the Sharwood's Peach Chutney I used to buy for 99 cents back in the early 70's. This company is great and I have purchased from them in the past with excellent results. Today I found the same product for much less in Texas and ordered from them. Hopefully I will get the same great service. Only $5.69 per bottle and since I order so many, it will really save. Sorry Amazon, I always shop from you, but this time someone else is getting my money.[...]

I first tasted Mrs. Balls Peach Chutney in Botswana and loved it. I bought a bottle at the airport in Johannesburg on the way home and savored it because I thought I'd never find it here in the US, but what a nice surprise to find it on Amazon. I just placed my second order, as it has become a staple in my kitchen, just like ketchup and mustard -- except this tastes so much better! I use it on chops and leftover chicken, with cheese, on vegetables, etc. It makes everything taste even better.

This was for part of a gift basket. I received the product COVERED in sticky-pack bubble wrap that DESTROYED the label - I could barely get the bubble wrap off, and it was entirely useless for putting in a gift. We ended up using it for home. The bottle was safe and unopened, the flavor was fine and the product was decent, but don't buy this for a gift if you expect it to arrive in good condition.

We have tried others, but Mrs Balls Peach Chutney is the best. It has the perfect blend of sweetness vs tang that my husband and I look for to wake up our somewhat bland lentil soup. While our lentil soup is made with curry, it needs just that something extra to go from very good to excellent! This chutney does the job. Other peach chutneys we have tried have been disappointing, even somewhat bitter. So for us, no peach chutney but Ball's peach chutney!Why peach and not mango? I am allergic to mango!

Anyone who grew up in South Africa loves Mrs. Balls Chutney. I have been living in the USA for twenty years and have tried many chutneys, including many from local Indian Groceries and home-made varieties from speciality stores. Nothing quite beats the taste of this brand. I know many recipes that use this chutney to make a wonderful marinade, or sauce for chicken dishes as well. These recipes can be found on line. I was delighted to find that Amazon had listed this incredible product. I bought six bottles and as soon as they are finished, I know where I can find them again. Either the Regular or the Peach varieties are a family favorite, even amongst my American born children. Thank you Amazon.
