The Good Slug Guide: How to Tackle the Slugs and Snails in Your Garden
J**Y
A book not just about slugs and snails but the wonder and complexity of nature under our feet.
This is a wonderful book that I read like a novel - somewhere between "The Game of Thrones" (as you never really know who your friends and allies are) and "A Brief History of Time"(as the narrative expands the world of the molluscs, insects, birds, mammals, reptiles, arachnids, insects, nematodes and fungi under our feet in non-technical terms). It is written by a post-doctoral researcher into the ecology of plant matter and the importance of organic matter is an ongoing theme. The last chapter wraps up the subject in a satisfying conclusion. Anyone who wants healthy biodiversity in their garden should read this book.
