Spectacular Scotland

There are plenty of photo books out there of Scotland. It has the kind of spectacular scenery and above-ground history that attracts visitors and photographers. "Spectacular Scotland" is an exceptional example.This coffee table book has lots of excellent color photography from all over Scotland, from coast to coast and from the Borders to the Highlands and Islands. The commentary is concise but does tell the viewer what and where they are looking at. Very well recommended as a souvenir or gift of a visit to Scotland.

Sent this as a birthday gift to my best friend and she LOVES it! I saw it for the first time in person when visiting her and it is a stunning coffee table or other display book. The pictures are spectacular. I HIGHLY recommend this exceptional book for all who love Scotland!

The photos showcase the land and historic sites and buildings, while the commentary informs the reader about the culture and people residing in Scotland. It gives readers a feel for what life is like there.

Bought this for a friend who’s from Scotland. She loved it! Beautiful pictures of landmarks and architecture.

It was perfect in every way except one: on the front of the book jacket, on the lower right side, there was an ugly 2 inch tear. I was going to contact Amazon about it, but my orders from them are most always perfect and they work so well with me when an issue arises, so I didn't. But if you've had a different experience and you receive this book with a rip like that on the book jacket, I would contact them, if I were you.

Has several pages that unfold to show wide angle photographs of excellent quality. About to buy another copy as a gift.

The pictures in this book are breathtaking! I bought the book to use for (and then donate to) my son's Montessori Primary school, when my mother-in-law (who is Scottish) and I gave a presentation on Scotland to my son's class. I ended-up buying a copy for myself and a copy for my mother-in-law, too. The younger children (who need some supervision with the book, as the pages are thin for little fingers, and the weight of the book would be too heavy for little toes) love looking at the pictures of castles, the animals native to Scotland, and the amazing shots caught of people engaged in traditional Scottish dances. The older children love working through the beautifully written descriptions of, and facts about, the areas of Scotland being shown in the pictures (though the print is quite small). I (and my family) just love it all. Even if you don't care about Scotland in particular, anyone who loves beautiful pictures and is looking for a great coffee table book for guests, would find that this book is a great choice.

Bought this as a gift for my dad. It has lots of beautiful photos & interesting tid bits about Scotland.

J'ai acheté ce livre NEUF et la couverture est arrivée abîmée, non pas cornée ou déchirée mais carrément comme si on avait gravé quelque chose dessus avec la pointe d'un couteau. je précise que cela concerne la couverture papier mais aussi la vraie couverture cartonnée. Sympa quand on veut l'offrir à quelqu'un !
