Carmin Cares (Pumpkinheads) Board book – Picture Book, July 17, 2012

Early on in grade school, I remember telling my dad that I was very disappointed that our grade school didn't have a school store like my sister's junior high. My dad said, "If you want a store so badly, start it yourself. You can do it. Think it through, then just do it!" It was a huge lesson. I did just that! I approached my teacher, told her exactly what I wanted to do, and asked for her help. Long story short, I started that store. What was more important was that early on I learned I could do anything I set my mind to, and to fill voids where I saw them. That is what has made our country great, so it is a huge lesson.This book teaches that lesson with great graphic imagery, no negativity, and a huge amount of positive gusto. As an eBook for children, I rate it highly. The lesson is clear but not preachy. If more kids read this book, more kids would be natural leaders, and we would not need to worry so much about the future leadership of not just this country but the world. I love the images in this children's eBook series, and will be sharing it with the young members of my extended family. Love it... even as an adult!

Carmin Cares is an award winning children's book by Karen Kilpatrick about an adorable little girl who makes a big difference.Carmin loves to spend time at the park with her dog Peanut. They "play with bubbles, swing on swings, throw some balls, look at things..." But, today Carmin discovers trash all over her beautiful park. The disgusting mess makes Carmin mad and her and Peanut head home to come up with a plan. Will Carmin figure out how to keep the park clean?I am absolutely in love with Carmin. She has to be one of the cutest children's book characters I've ever seen. The illustrator, An-Lon Chen, uses vibrant colors to create charming characters and little critters that add to the playfulness of the story.The lighthearted rhyme will delight young children, all the while reminding readers that it just takes one person to care enough to help change a situation for the better.I highly recommend picking up a copy of Carmin Cares.

Karen Kilpatrick has written a charming, thoughtful and endearing children's book brilliantly illustrated by An-Lon Chen.Carmin is off to the park with her dog Peanut to play. She is excited and happy to be enjoying the day until she comes off the slide and steps in a pile of trash and gets gum on her shoe. This makes her very unhappy and she wants to do something to take care of the situation. She goes home with a plan and happily returns to the park with what she believes will be a solution to the problem.This is a great lesson to help teach children to do their part to help take care of our beautiful earth. It doesn't matter how big or small their contribution is as long as everyone participates. The illustrations by An-Lon Chen are brilliantly colorful and convey this story in an appealing way.

We liked Carmin and would like to see her in other books.The book did seem like it was written by a child. I did not read any info on it before I bought it so that may be the case.Our favorite part of the book is the pictures. We love that they fill our entire tablet screen. May of the books here dont do that.If more books are made with the character Carmin and the illustrations are nice, colorful and are full page (dont forget to make the text large enough to read, this one was just fine) we will surely buy another book from the pumpkinheads collection.

This was a very cute book. I read it to my four year old and she loved it. The pictures are great and is one of the better kindle books I have read to my daughter. She loved the story about keeping the park clean. Just wish it was a littler longer but still an adorable book.

I read this to my 3 year old and she made me read it twice. She liked the rhyming and the colorful decorated illustrations of other chocolate girls like us. The book's message was easy for her to follow as well. I look forward to purchasing more books like Carmin Cares from you.

Just bought Carmin Cares for my niece and she loves it! I've bought her many books, but none have caused such excitement. Now each time I go to her house, she makes me sit on the couch with her while she points feverishly to some new detail she found in the book. I don't know what magic makes children love certain books, but i know this one has it. Great buy. Stupendous!!

My 2 year old loves this book. My daughter loves stories with little girls and books with great rhymes and great art work hold her attention. This one has it all and she often points to it when I ask her which book she wants to read next on the google nexus tablet.
