These arrived nested inside one another tightly. This decision has caused the inside pad to be folded in by the straps of the outer pad. The foam inside the pad is creased and bunched up and will never lie flat. This affects the ease with which the quick release strap can snap on, as it has bent the post toward the arm instead of sticking out at the appropriate angle to fit into the strap. There is room in the mesh bag for them to both fit just fine, there was no reason to wrap them so tightly.Apart from that, these are actually pretty comfortable and don't slip around. At least in my limited testing of crawling around on the floor and smacking them into a wooden hand rail. Tried it with long sleeves and short. Sharp corners of the velcro patches poke into my arm without sleeves. The stitching is offset enough that you may be able to trim the edges to be rounded and more comfortable, but I'll just wear long sleeves underneath. The way they chose to melt the seam on the edge piping was an... interesting choice, but seems sturdy enough and didn't cause me any discomfort, photos attached.Now, the NTOA tested marketing. This is the NGE500. The NGE400 is the only model hwi elbow pad that is listed on their website database of products. I'm assuming this is just a refresh of those elbow pads, however, by stating that this product model NGE500 is ntoa tested and recommended, you have lied. It would be fine if you said "Updated version of x that is ntoa etc" and outline what changes were made, if any. Companies have discontinued good products to be replaced by inferior versions before, and I consider it false advertising to sell a new product by giving it the earned 3rd party credentials of a previous product.Take away the crease and the deceptive marketing and I'd give it 4.5 to 5 stars.

This HWI “Next Generation Elbow Pad, Protection, Outdoor, Sports, Construction, Hunting, Landscaping, Heavy Duty, Adjustable” is a pair of good elbow protection/pads. They are well made, strong, and protective. And even though it is one-size-fits-all, they fit very well, and most importantly, they stay in place during vigorous use. I also like the quick attach/detach feature, so, once you have adjusted these to your liking, you can quickly take them off and put them on without needing to re-adjust them. They also claimed that these elbow pads are “NOTA (National Tactical Officers Association) Member Tested and Recommended”, which gave these some good credibility. And also from my personal experience, I can also recommend these.I would have given these HWI elbow pads 5-star, but there was a crucial misinformation on the product listing. The product listing stated that these pads are of USA origin and are made in USA, but in reality, they are made in China.
