These are good thin socks for use with dress shoes. They are a neutral tan color that goes with a lot of pants, so even though they are "fun" socks, they actually blend in a fairly professional way until you see the little toggle and words near the top of the sock. These are a cute gift for a birder, although I'm not as crazy about the printing on the bottom of the sock, because it does turn it from a positive message (essentially, "I like birding!") to a negative one ("I have an enemy"). To me, that makes it a little less giftable. But they are well made and soft. It says they are "one size" but to me they seem more like medium size, so people with large feet may not find them as comfortable.
