I'm a truck driver, and this kettle has been a real lifesaver for me on the road. It's small, lightweight, doesn’t take up much space, and yes — it really boils water. It takes about 20 minutes to reach full boiling, and I can easily make tea, coffee, or a simple meal like instant noodles.It plugs into the cigarette lighter and works with both 12V and 24V, so it's great for cars and trucks. The wire does get a bit warm during use, but my vehicle and fuse handle it just fine — no issues at all.I was also pleasantly surprised by the digital display and auto shut-off once it boils. Works well. Heats up relatively fast. The stirrer whirls strongly. If it had an opening on the cap for drinking, that would be perfect.A few weeks later, it fell out of the side pocket of my backpack at waist height. It shattered! The wires & circuit board were exposed. That was the end of that.

Used this on a cross country road trip and found it invaluable for making tea and coffee on the road, hydrating freeze-dried backpacker meals, and keeping the occasional store-bought coffee warm. Three things to bear in mind:1. It will take a while to boil water given the level of power available via a car outlet.2. The outside of the container can get uncomfortably warm to the touch if you heat water all the way to boiling, so maybe test touch it when it’s done heating and use something as a pot holder if it’s uncomfortably hot.3. It’s important to read all the instructions on this listing and maybe keep a printout with the kettle, as the instructions are a little jumbled and not 100% intuitive.That said, it worked great and made the trip so much more pleasant and comfortable. My travel companion kept the original kettle as she had further to go after dropping me off, and I’m back now to buy a second one for myself. So grateful this little contraption exists! 🙂

It is large enough to make 2 cups of tea in 1. Good quality material and heats up in about 5 mins and i can carry it everywhere. Surely value for money. Would 100% recommend.

It works as advertised.Except, I don't think it boils the water. I think it stops just before the water boils. But the water is hot enough for anything you are making that needs very hot water. Took about 20 minutes.
