Good grip, good price, great product
Excellent grab. Used on our wheelchair ramp , just mixed it into the stain/seal in the roller pan. Really does the job , did the ramp and went on to roll over entire deck. Little goes a long way.

Worked great in epoxy floor paint
I tried the sand that comes with epoxy floor paints and did not like the finish it gave. It left an emery board texture to the paint and a dull finish; this would make cleaning the floor a nightmare since dirt would get stuck between all those millions of super fine sand particles in a way that mops cannot get it out.I used to work in a shop where there was an easy to clean floor that had fewer sand particles, but coarser and better for anti-slip. Then I found this Rust-Oleum 22242 skid-tex and tried it out. I mixed one of the 1lb pails to two-gallons of epoxy paint. The finish came out great and I now have a wonderful anti-skid floor while still keeping a better sheen to the paint. The sand does not affect the paint quality or chemical composition just as the label states this. However, it seemed there were still too many particles when using one full pail of this sand. Threfore, in two of the four batches of paint I laid down, I reduced the mixture to 2/3 of a 1lb pail with two gallons of paint to reduce the number particles; It worked even better this way and still gave great slip resistance and the paint kept a good sheen.

Good but Not for dog agility equipment
This is the best priced product to add texture to paint, but It was not sufficient for my dog agility equipment. The texture is better for making things like steps for human use less slippery. For dog agility equipment, you need a whole lot more real grip texture, so I’d just buy a bag of sand. I painted my equipment first with the skidTex added to the exterior paint, and it did what it said but sure not enough for a dog to run up an A-Frame. So, laying each of the two pieces of the A-Frame flat, I gave a second coat by throwing several handfuls of fine sand between the cleats, then poured the appropriate amount of paint on top, and stirred with a cheap 2” brush then spread it around, covering the cleats on either edge as well. I did that between each set of cleats using about 1-2 cups of fine sand in each area and adding the paint to make a slurry. It worked great! There is almost as much texture as having used the official rubber pellets/epoxy surface you find at the trials, but at literally 1/4 the cost.

Works with stain
This states it is made for paint and no one mentioned using it with stain, but I figured I would take my chances. Did my deck and porches with a semi-transparent stain and sealer. I only mixed a quart at a time and followed the directions. I did my first coat with the Skid-tex. When I did the second coat I didn't mix any in. It doesn't look real textured, but it is enough to make the surfaces non-slippery. I know some people were asking about using with pets. I often go out in my bare feet and the surface is not uncomfortable at all to my feet.

Seems to work good so far

Want to avoid slipping, add this to your deck paint.
We painted some plywood decking using this in the paint and/or stain and it mixed in easily, stayed suspended and did not significantly affect the adhesion or color, but it did keep us from slipping.

Texturizer
This worked well but it was a struggle to make sand spread evenly.

Perfect!
We replaced the stairs into our barn. It always wet and slippery in the winter and when there’s ice and hay on the steps. We tried skid tape which kept coming up. We bought this, great price. Added it to our barn red paint, maybe a bit more than it says on the label, but that did not matter! IT WORKS PERFECTLY!! Nice gritty surface for traction! Would defiantly recommend this product, AND will buy it again if we need to paint anything with a no slip surface.
