Elizabeth I: The Exhibition Catalogue

This book is so much more than an Exhibition Catalogue, it's a time machine! I have been reading/watching A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness and Bad Wolf Studios and wanted to familiarize myself with the time period Diana and Matthew travel to in the second book/series. The history provided is extensive, and the pictures are incredible! Photos of miniatures by Hilliard, a compendium, and paintings of people and fashions of the time. It's exquisite! (This book was listed in Very Good condition but is actually in EXCELLENT condition.)

The book is well researched, documented with wonderful pictures... Cannot wait to start teaching with this new addition to my librarywhich I share with my Literature students.

Having long been an Elizabeth I enthusiast, I collect books on her reign and this was a lovely addition to that collection. Lavishly illustrated with an authoritative and scholarly text, this book explores Elizabeth's life and reign. Though not an in depth account, it explores some of the major aspects of her life and times and augments references to each by presenting the reader with glorious artifacts pertaining to the period. It is a fast and easy read (especially for those familiar with the subject area), but you will find yourself lingering over it for the sheer beauty of the book itself. The selection of items included really brings the period to life and give the reader a sense of what life was like for this remarkable woman.
