Surge Guard 44290 Portable Surge Protector - 120/240V, 50A

Shore power on our RV stopped working. Since it was still under the 1 year factory warranty we took it back for what we thought was warranty repairs to find out that our surge protector had failed. Let's just say I'm not a happy customer since I have no way to contact the seller and it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to the service center. Certainly there should be a one year warranty on the product. I'm a big Amazon fan but right now not very happy.Side note. Last weekend we camped out for 3 days and it rained pretty hard. I saw another review talking about water intrusion and now I suspect that's what happened to my surge protector. It should be waterproof !!!!

The cost of this Surge Guard 44290 Portable Surge Protector - 120/240V, 50A is worth every dime and I am sure it has already paid for itself. Highly suggest this item if not some other similar surge protector for your RV. This item was recommended by "All About RVs" Jared Gillis and it was a good recommendation. Received the item promptly via Amazon Prime (another well worth the cost item). Surge Guard 44290 Portable Surge Protector - 120/240V, 50A is working great.

We do not recommend this product, the 1 st one we sent back it got water in it ( while plugged in the electric box off the ground, after paying to send it back, we received a new 1, a few weeks later same problem. Thanks to Amazon we received a refund

was having recent problems with the electricity in my fifth-wheel … the park manager checked the power at the electric post and said that there was power coming from it and he felt it had something to do with my trailer... I ordered this product and received it the next day, plugged it in and it said that there was a problem with the electric post from the park (missing L2 120V)… the park manager was baffled , but proceeded to change out the outlet … still read "missing L2 120V"... he then switched out the 50amp breaker in the pedestal... whalla! That was the problem! If it weren't for this gadget, I would have prob spent hundreds of $$$$ trying to figure out what was going on with my trailer! I'll be keeping it plugged in now that I have it, just in case there are any surcharges or any other problems with the electric !

Garbage! Brand new furnace fried during first power out from high winds, broke the second the power surged and never worked right, awesome when it's 21 degrees Fahrenheit outside, product cost me several times the cost of a proper surge protector, unbelievable

Had an electrical surge due to lighting. It blew out our AC unit and Cable Unit for our TV. Called southwire which is the name of the manufacture. They said that this unit does not protect against power surges but can prevent over heating. Although the unit is called “surge guard”. The tech said it was a tough lesson to learn and I should have bought the $1000 unit that protects from electrical surges. Not the cheap unit. Haha. Wtf. Never buy this scam.

Had mine for a year, just realized it has no lights on at all.. no red, no green, no nothing. Do not know if it is working or not. And.. cannot find any tech support. Company web site seems to be missing.

Used this all season and seemed to work as it should. We closed our camp site for the season today, and when we unhooked the surge protector from the power supply we discovered that it is completely full of water! This seems to me to be super unsafe, would love to hear feedback from the manufacturer, or seller on this!
