The Food Processor Bible

Worth buying, even if you have the original book!
I have been using the original book (yellow binder) for over 30 years. I bought this to see what recipes have been updated and what new recipes she has. I'm not disappointed! There are several gluten free recipes, more Passover recipes and tips throughout the book. Yes, some of my favourite recipes have changed slightly, but only to be healthier! Format is comfortable to use as the book opens fully. I just might have to move the yellow binder to the back of the shelf...

Great Book.
This is a great book. Having been given a Magimix food processor as a Christmas gift, I needed some inspiration. This book did not disappoint, although some of the recipes are very Americanised.

Money well spent
I love this book. I love just reading it. It inspires me to use my food processor. Not only are there excellent tips, but terrific recipes I would use daily. When purchasing this book, I wasn't sure if it would be a flop and I was pleasantly surprised. One reviewer referred to the quantity of Jewish recipes. First, I didn't feel this was true and second, our family all kinds of foods: Mexican, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Russian AND Jewish. I am sure they are referring to the passover section at the end. But a lot of these recipes look very good, I would give them a try. The majority of the recipes (and there are many) are cookies, cheesecake, biscuits, marinades, appetizers, dressings, soups, etc. All from various backgrounds, that I would serve to my family DAILY. A lot of common ingredients are used and some not-so-common (but not out this world either). I was more than happy this book and would recommend it to anyone with a food processor.August 2007 Update:I still use this book all the time and from it's dog-eared pages and coffee stains you can see it's a favorite on my kitchen counter. One of our favorites is the egg salad recipe. I love using my food processor and I feel it was a good investment. There are so many great recipes in here that have enabled me to learn to use my food processors in so many ways and adapt old favorites of my own. A family favorite I have adapted to food processor friendly is: Chicken Enchiladas - I chop the chicken and onions for the filling and the without even needing to rinse the bowl I process the creamy sauce which is sour cream and cream of chicken soup. This is a great recipe. You can look it up at the Campbell's soup site:)Update January 2009:Over the past several months we remodeled our home and included my 'dream kitchen' into the project. I had to pack everything from the main level of our house into boxes and move it all into the garage. During this 'move', sadly, my copy of this book was lost. I have searched and searched but have not run across it yet. This book was a staple in my kitchen and miss it terribly. Today I am ordering another copy. Again, I say, "Money well spent!"Update: June 2009Again my favorite cookbook didn't let me down. I was looking for a Pizza recipe to make with the kids and this cookbook had it all starting with the recipe for the crust! We were so pleased, and it turned out fabulous!

Delicious!
I've already dog-eared many pages. If you have a food processor then you've got to have this book. Its full of up-to-date information on the newer generation of processors but its great even if you have an older unit. The recipes are practical and for the most part healthy. This book will definitely get your food processor out of the cupboard and onto the shelf where you will use it more often. Try the Berry Good Sherbet for a super quick, easy, delicious and healthy dessert!

In truth, this wonderful effort by Ms. Gilletz is surely worth its weight in gold
This may not be the greatest book ever written. The other bible can claim that title. But "The New Food Processor Bible: 30th Anniversary Edition" certainly comes in a mighty close second. Imagine, two bibles at the pinnacle. The author, Norene Gilletz, lives in Canada where legend has it, `the Mounties always get their man.' Ms. Gilletz does them one better - she manages to get everyone with this absolutely delicious recipe book for food processers. She wins, hands down, blades up.It's taken me lots of years to buy my first food processer. Not wanting to waste precious time (if you get my drift), I decided to look around for a good recipe book to go with it. After all, there are just a limited number of things one can make out of sliced zucchinis. Now was certainly the time to reach out.Well, I read the rave reviews, researched it carefully online, the number of pages, the number of recipes, how much it weighed, its dimensions, everything a knowledgeable book-buyer should do. I am here to report that I was not disappointed - I was thrilled. In truth, this wonderful effort by Ms. Gilletz is surely worth its weight in gold. Or oil. Or vanilla beans. In fact, I'd say you'd have to be made of wood not to be blown away by all the great recipes, and all the wonderful dishes/foods just sitting there, waiting for you to prepare them. Who would have guessed, when you bought her book, she'd be at hand (figuratively), looking over your shoulder (kind of) helping you become the go-to gal or guy for hundreds and hundreds of simple to prepare but super dishes. The recipes are straightforward and very easy to understand. And with the food processor, you'll have amazing meals in minutes - or seconds. With tons of requests - for seconds. So I urge you to dip into the heavenly recipes in New Food Processor Bible and turn your kitchen into a house of worship. But a word of caution. This is a book that once opened, is very hard to put aside. If you find yourself making recipe after recipe - without being able to stop - it might be time to consider checking into one of Norene's Recipe Rehabs... for people who just can't get enough of a good thing - or great thing.
