Paperclay: Art and Practice (New Ceramics)

Brilliant!
I wish I'd found this years ago. Not only because of the concept, but this is written so clearly, illustrated so beautifully, and explained in simple enough terms for someone new to the craft, but technical enough for anyone who wishes to become expert in executing a perfect end result. It's full of inspirational examples and I can't wait to get my hands on the equipment I need.

Great.
Again these books are a bonus for me as I want to learn more about ceramics. Made a figure in ordinary clay and unfortunately it fell and the head fell off. With the help of the books I discovered that I could use paper clay to reattach the head and now it is one of my nicest pieces. Great.

Inspirational and practical
Really inspirational and equally practical guide to working with paperclay. Many ideas I hadnt thought of and examples from many different ceramicists all over the world, that give me an insight in certain approaches where previously I had been wondering, how on earth do they do that? Thanks to this book I’ve been experimenting much more than I would have otherwise, even firing some pieces in a garden fire...

Brilliant!
This book gives clear basic information and instruction with out being patronising, its ideal for a beginner but also has more advanced information, suitable for everyone interested in this. Read it virtually in one go!

Great book on Paperclay
Really clear and thorough explanation of all aspects of working with paperclay.- Rosette Gault's book is essential reading for those starting to work in this medium.

Not a lot in it .
Very poor , the main idea seems to be that you can avoid the skills required to work with clay by using paperclayNot very imaginative ,I got nothing from this book.

Well worth the money! *kiln fired p’clay only
Clarification note:This is for kiln fired paper clay. Although this p’clay can be left to dry and not fired, most of the book has to do with fired p’clay. If you are working with the air dry type you get at craft stores, this is not the right book for you.Review:This book is amazing! There is so much information in it! I learned everything I need to know about fired paper clay. You don’t need to read it in order, but reading it all really does make a difference. I often found myself reading for hours at a time, taking notes, as it was well paced and easy to understand. Well worth the money! The only thing that wasn’t clear until I read the whole thing and pieced it together, as the info is split between sections: when measuring to make the paper clay, measure clay slip and wet but squeezed out processed pulp, both by volume (not weight), to find your ratios when making paper clay.Otherwise, excellent!

interessant für Experimentierfreudige
eine Fundgrube für Fortgeschrittene Keramiker, die auf neue Ideen kommen wollen. Die Sprache ist halt englisch und für Ungeübte nicht einfach
