Auto-balm is a unique product providing protection and gloss to automotive paintwork and car bodywork. It is the result of thousands of hours of development and testing - a blend of synthesised complex corrosion inhibiting molecules that lock together tightly enabling them to remain functional in ultra-thin, high gloss films. Auto-balm will seal capillary pores in paintwork and provide an anticorrosion barrier to stone-chips and other damaged sites on vehicle paintwork. Auto-balm will also protect and shine chrome, aluminium, and alloys. Auto-balm is not an abrasive polish - if the vehicle's bodywork is faded or in poor condition then the use of a light cutting polish will be required before application.

Brilliant for shine, but not for beading
I've been using Auto Balm on all our vehicles for about ten years now and it's great for its intended purpose. If you've got a vehicle with older paintwork, or are looking for a really unbeatable shine, then it's just the ticket. I tried it out recently on my step-son's 08 reg Golf, which is a dark metallic blue/grey (sorry, no idea what VW call it) and hadn't been waxed for some time.Half way through, my wife came out and was amazed at the pronounced difference between an unwaxed and waxed part of one of the doors. There was an appreciably greater depth and shine to the colour on the section I'd just finished.Once you've finished (and if it's hard work to buff off, you've used too much - follow the instructions and it's easy), your car or bike will look brilliant. You can use it on everything apart from the windscreen and tyres. It leaves no residue on plastics and trim, and cleans window and rear glass beautifully as well.It lasts for ages and works out as a very economical product if you use it sparingly (ie correctly). It also helps to protect any bare metal (paint chips, etc) until you can get them properly repaired. It won't restore faded or scratched paintwork, but there are plenty of other products to use first for that.Longevity will depend on how you use your vehicle, the weather, what you use to wash it, etc, but typically I apply it to my van two or three times a year and it's still obviously working to an extent when I get round to the next application. There's just one 'but', and if such things things are important to you, it's a big one. This stuff really doesn't produce 'beading' of water. Yes, there is a certain amount of beading, and water won't just sit as a sheet on large panels, but if you like to see lots of those lovely beads sitting on your horizontal panels after it rains, you'll need to look elsewhere, at BH's Double Speed Wax in fact: Bilt Hamber BHDSW250 Double Speed-Wax 250ml If you just want your vehicle to be as shiny as it can possibly be though, Auto Balm's the stuff to buy.

Great reflective shine
Really pleased with this. Admittedly I used this on a warm but cloudy day - I don't know the recommended amount but this tin covered my car with a bit to spare and applied and removed with ease. Fantastic finish and hope the protection blurb is true as my paint has a few stone chips on the front. Definitely will order more. My next door neighbour has a year old car and the reflection using this easily matches their paintwork.
