Very powerful. Beware that it's quite big
I picked up this bug zapper for my backyard, and it’s been a huge help with keeping mosquitoes and flies under control. The 36W bulb is super bright, and it really draws in all the little pests. Within a day, the tray was already full of dead bugs, so it’s definitely effective. The coverage is impressive—it easily handles my patio and even some of the surrounding yard. The 13-foot cable is long enough to reach my outdoor outlet without needing an extension cord, which was a nice surprise.I also appreciate how sturdy the build is. It feels well-made, and the protective grid keeps it safe to have around kids and pets. Cleaning it is easy too. The tray slides out, and a quick rinse takes care of everything.Overall, this zapper has made outdoor evenings so much more enjoyable. If you’re tired of getting bitten every time you step outside, this is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend it!

Large unit, Long Power Cord
The coospider-repta Large Bug Zapper is well-made and can be used either indoors or outdoors. It can be hung using the supplied chain and clasps (see photo) or by sitting on a table or similar. The unit also comes with a brush to aid in cleaning out the unit. This unit also has an extra-long 13-foot power cord, so it may not need an extension cord in many applications. This cord does have a 3-prong grounding plug, so be aware of that when planning your placement options. The unit has an ON/OFF switch as well.NOTE: in one of the photos on the product page, they show the unit being hung on a hook by the carrying handle. However, the Instruction sheet that comes with the unit clearly states in the “Precautions” section: “The handle is only for manual movement and not suitable for hanging this product. Otherwise, the product may be damaged as it falls off.” I would ONLY use the supplied chain for hanging, never trusting the handle to support the weight long term.5 STARS AND I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEMI write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases. I read reviews too, and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that you find this review helpful!

Nice, Large Bug Zapper!
This bug zapper is big. Which is really nice. It features a long cord (13') which makes it easier to place in your yard if you don't want to use an outdoor extension cord. I know it works great on our porch! The light is bright enough, but not overly so. But good for night time scenarios. The build quality looks to be quite nice, too, though I've not had it long enough to see who waterproof it really is. But with the long cord and the fact that I hang it on a yard hook, I plan to just take it in when we're not outside. The folding handle on top doubles as a nice hook, so it's very convenient to take off the yard hook and bring it in.Overall, I'm very pleased with this item.

Mine was defective and has other quality issues.
I really wanted to love this, as my first impression after unboxing is that this is a legit zapper, and not some plastic hunk of junk. But, I got lots of electrical arcing noises after powering it up that had me fully disassemble this to track down the issue. The issue turned out to be a half dozen poor or broken solder joints between some of the inner cage wire junctions, a loose connector inside the control board area, and a general sense that the electrical internals were more or less forced to fit inside an area not exactly designed to fit what is all shoved in there. For example, the circuit board housed under the top is too large for the area it sits in, with the molded in board mounting clips having been broken away to accommodate a slightly too large circuit board. While I will fix the solder issues before using again, and this will probably function as it should, I’m just not happy with the overall quality of this, especially at a price of $63 at time of my review. For those wanting to still give this a try, I do like the sturdiness of the inner and outer cage, along with the plastic housing parts. You get over 12' of power cord (3 prong grounded plug) and about a foot of chain to hang this with if desired. The top has a folding carry handle. The bottom has a twist to open / close design for removing dead bugs (once you remove and chuck out a small screw that locks it from turning).Potential for this to be a great product is there, but poor execution in assembling this properly leaves me recommending others to look elsewhere. One thing to take note of within the instructions is that you are advised to put this inside whatever room you desire to rid of mosquitos an hour before occupying, as their disclaimer states it is known mosquitos will be more attracted to a human than their zapper. Quite frankly, I prefer a zapper that works the other way around.

Bug zapper
Ordering this in November, after bug season is over, at first thought wasn't so smart. However, every year when the bugs come out, I'm never ready. I don't know many details about how much noise it makes, how bright it is, or what its functional benefits are. I do know that I'll be ready when these bugs return. It feels sturdy and well made. Like all such items, you'll know how effective it is when you don't get bothered by the pests.
