Wheaton manufactures a new line of high density cell culture membrane flasks for antibody and protein production. CELLine works well with secreting cell lines such as Hybridoma, CHO, NS0, SF, HEK, and BHK cells. Conventional in vivo or in vitro cell culture methods can be laborious, low density and require significant purification. CELLine dual compartment flasks separate the cell compartment from the bulk media compartment with a 10 kD MWCO dialysis membrane. This allows for longer run times, high density cultures, and a super concentrated harvest. The CELLine flasks were designed to address three areas of limitation: Handling RequirementsCELLine flasks reduce the labor requirement by requiring less consumable items and allowing longer run times due to their unique metabolite regulating upper membrane. This membrane allows for bulk media storage during operation to ensure constant and regulated nutrient access for the cells. Cell DensitiesCELLine flasks ensure maximum gas exchange by placing the gas permeable lower membrane directly next to the cells. This allows for optimal oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer for metabolizing cells. PurificationThe upper and lower membranes form an optimized compartment for cell proliferation. This concentrates the antibody and proteins of interest and keeps them away from the bulk medium. CELLine flasks also allow for the reduced use of growth factors and serum.
