they take a while to get to full brightness, until then (about 45 seconds in a moderately warm house) they're about as bright as a night light. When they're at their full brightness, they're decently bright considering their size. I was going to add a picture, but the camera just can't seem to get it right, it's an almost bruised purple light for the first 20 seconds. Turn them on at least a minute before you need them! They'll save you money, in the long run.

These work great….but WHAT IS WITH THE UGLY WRITING ALL OVER THE BOTTOM? All that writing shows when these are in the chandelier.So I did find this type of bulb in a different brand through Amazon….sold by Saturn and bought those instead…same thing but no tacky black print visible when in the chandler. I own 9 chandeliers in a music school, so I guess I felt this was important enough to review.…I think most of us would prefer the beauty of traditional candelabra bulbs, but if energy efficiency is an issue, and a compromise is needed, the other bulbs on Amazon are a good compromise….

We have a chandalier in a house we've lived in about 6 months and recently found out that if we run the microwave and have the chandalier and other kitchen lights on it will overload and trip our btraker. We went from using 9- 40 watt bulbs to these and they worked great and made it so we don't overload the circuit so we don't have problems with the power going off. They do take a minute or so to reach their full brightness so don't be shocked if you change some bulbs out and it sems dim at first. Give them some time.

I am using these bulbs in two outside enclosed light fixtures on my garage. They provide great light replacing two 40 watt incandescent bulbs in each fixture 3 months ago. Only reason for 4 stars is the cost and unknown longevity, They will need to last a long time to recover the cost differential. Too bad we can't buy CFLs made in USA.

Purchased two packs of these bulbs and they really look nice in our six bulb kitchen chandlier. I would rate them a 5 star but one bulb went out after one week of use. All the others have been fine and are on almost constantly. I am glad I bought two packs because it gave me two back-up bulbs. Good purchase.

I purchased these light bulbs for my dimmable fixture because this product shows up under the dimmable CFL search on Amazon. Once i received the light bulb, there is no mention about the dimmable feature anywhere on the packaging. Having seen most of the dimmable light bulbs in the hardware stores with clear unmistakable labels advertising the dimmable feature. I became weary of my new purchase. After some research on the Sylvania website, I can't conclusively say these bulbs are not dimmable, however, this product is not listed among the other dimmable bulbs Sylvania produces. People with those delicate glass bulbs should take note of these protected versions. The normal glass versions get hot and break themselves or get hit by even a minute amount of rain or snow and burst while hot. You buy them over and over. these take a lot more abuse and bad weather. I love them. this seller did his job. Check the price for yourself as this order was a convenience for me. I keep forgetting to go and search for them and items like them. So..the dollars were less important to me. Thanks seller!

I have bought them before so I knew I would like them. The light from them is easy on the eyes and they seem to last pretty well. I think they are overpriced but I think everything is overpriced! I tested mine as soon as they came to make sure they worked. They do.

This order was missing the main part ....... the adapters, the lights bulb is no good to me without the adapter. I was told i do not have to return this as the package was missing parts

I dont like the fact that they dont come with a converter from a small screw tip to a regular lightbulb size. Also, the light doesn't get white but stays a dim yellow (in comparison with other lights I purchased elsewhere). Photo shows light on right is not white. Not getting these again.
