The Complete Sandbag Training Course

Concise handbook.
This book is expertly done. It starts with what type of sandbag to get or make, and immediately describes the major types of exercises (with variations / progressions for each exercise.) But the book is tiny, I didn't expect that.

A good start
I actually purchased this before considering an actual sandbag. I became even more interested when I read this.My problem with most weights is I become bored. I've actually managed to stick with this for two years and I'll use the sand bag for a long time. I just enjoy it.The author gives descriptions for all types of exercises for pulling, pushing and leg movements. Carries, holds and hand positions for the bag.He gives good tips for habits such as rest, water, eat right. How to progress in your strength either by increasing reps or decreasing rest between sets before moving up in weight. Oh and he tells you how you can make your own. Check youtube there seem to be a lot of people showing how to make them. Now the reason I gave this 5 star is simply because this is what got me commited to weight lifting. I started at a 60 lb bag and am now at 120 taking it slow and steady. My goal is to reach 180. I only wish I could thank the author."Non sand bag users"If your curious I have a suggestion. Make your own before thinking about purchasing a professional make. They cost good bit and just because I love this doesn't mean you will, everyone is different. Use play sand (kind you find in sandbox for kids), place in up to 3 or 4 high quality sand bags. Then place that in a canvas bag, you can find these in an army surplus store, for me this was about 26 dollars.A 40-60 lb bag should allow the average man to test the bag out. Don't let your ego get you hurt, these things feel heavier then you may think. Start low and then work up to a weight you feel comfortable using (challenging but not disrupting your form).

Nice, simplistic book!
I bought this book to go with the SKLZ sandbag that I bought and it is a great intro to sandbag training. I would have liked a little more detailed explanations on some of the exercises, but it is a good, little book at a good price.

Small but packed with info!
Yes, this is more of a booklet or manual than a "book". However, that doesn't take away from the information it contains. I have collected a few other ebooks and books devoted to sandbag training but this is by far the best of the bunch. It would be nice if it was bigger and had twice the pages but in all honesty I am not sure how much can be said about lifting a bag of sand for exercise. There are only so many exercises a person can do with sandbags but the good news is that this booklet does a pretty good job of covering most of them. Not only that but the author also addresses program design as well as different sandbag workouts. It also discuss how to make a sandbag so you can get started asap.

Simple and informative
Filled with all of the information you need to start sandbag training. As a combat athlete, it's difficult to incorporate strength and conditioning sessions in with the grappling and striking skill development. I cherry picked bits of information out of this book, and Brian Jones' "The Conditioning Handbook" in order to develop a more well rounded training regimen that includes striking, grappling, body weight exercises, dumbbells, kettlebells, and of course sandbags. No matter your sport or athletic goals, sandbag training can (and probably should) be incorporated into your regimen.

overpriced - a manual not a book - very misleading
I bought this as a gift and for $13.00 I expected a book not a 35 page poorly printed manual. I have not read the material as I am still too upset as I feel that I was ripped off by the physical description of this item.

For anyone looking into Sandbag Training, this is the TRUTH!!
Are you after real, functional, and practical strength? The kind that people my age used to call 'Farmboy strength'? I'm conviced that the best way to achieve it is two ways: Body weight conditiong exercises and lifting odd objects. Sandbags are an excellent tool by which to accomplish the latter. There are hundreds of videos on the internet that demonstrate how to utilize sandbags, but not all are good or safe instruction. This ebook takes the guess work out of it, and ensures - if followed correctly - that one can enjoy the benefits of sandbag lifting both safely and effectively, in my opinion. This was an investment I'm glad I made.

Great booklet, small price, HUGE value
I love this booklet. Not only is it packed with countless sandbag exercises, it's well-organized and easy to follow. The program design chapter at the end is great for putting together a routine that focuses on sandbags. I have tons of bookmarked sites in my browser that link to video exercises but this booklet has everything packed into one location. It's also small enough that you can carry it with you in a duffle/gym bag. And let's face it, the publisher is IronMind Enterprises. Those guys know a few things about strength training.

Dissapointed in the quality
Very poor quality burst after only using it twice and there was no where near the amount of sand in it it should carry
