"Salvation" comes to the end of "The Crow" legacy
Undoubtably it is the first score and movie that was the best when it comes to "The Crow." However, where "City of Angels" (the second film)was lacking, and through no fault of Vincent Perez, this score picks up and gives me hope that the "Crow" films will now end on a high note. This is a very dynamic and moving score with angelic overtones and dark corners. Wonderful music to write to. As a long time fan I can say in all truth, this did not fall from my hopes. The only thing lacking is the fine workings of Graeme Revell, who I believe helped bring as much soul to the first film as Brandon Lee did, but as the films have evolved so must the music, and I welcome Marco Beltrami.

It serves its purpose well
Even though Graeme Revell served the first Crow movie well, and was the only good thing about the second one, I thought Beltrami was refreshing. The problem with the second flick was that it tried to tie to the first one. Salvation is free from all that, so having a new composer almost seems expected. Beltrami seems to like reoccuring themes which ties all the tracks together. Some of my favorite melodies are on this CD, ones that when you think of what happens in the movie, are quite moving. Whether it be the atmospheric soft sounds or the pounding action ones, this will stir up your emotions.

Just average
I was really looking forward to the third Crow film. One of the things that attracted me most to the first two were the deeply moving scores from Graeme Revell. They created a sense of atmosphere and cohesiveness. When I learned that Marco Beltrami would be taking over the duties, I tried to keep an open mind, being unfamilar with his work. Although I haven't given the soundtrack my full attention, I can already say that I don't get the same feeling from this score. It doesn't come off as dark or sad as the first two, which are two of the central themes of the Crow. Not what I would call a bad score, but the others were definately better.
